Street Style Round-Up from Milan Fashion Week
Milan street style always brings an optimistic quirkiness unlike that of any other city. Perhaps it was the impending threat of rain lurking around the corner, but this Milan Fashion Week saw an overall more subdued and more simply chic collection of street style outside the fashion shows. Here is my collection of street style photography from the past week of Italian high fashion.
Let's start the roundup with a shot that summarizes Milan Fashion Week perfectly; Anna Dello Russo dodging the rain in a bucket hat, wearing a range of colors and prints despite the cloudy outlook.
Rare rays of sun shine down on a seafoam green dress that refuses to acknowlege the impending fall and possibility of rain.
It wouldn't be Milan street style without a crazy, furry accessory like these fabulous and impossibly impractical furry blush mules.
Wearing fall colors and seventies bohemian style with print on print that earns her a street style snap (or two). Her casual wavy locks finish off the look seamlessly.
Zanita Whittington adds style points to a simple tee by layering a fun and furry vest over it. For the rest of her ensemble, all-black keeps her sophisticated and Italy-ready.
Braving the rain in all-black (it never goes out of style for a reason), but adding some sex appeal with a high slit and exposed leg, and a tiny flash of metallics with a gold belt.
Layering dresses over shirts was a bit of a theme on the streets as well as on the runway this Milan fashion week, and her structured blouse somehow works under a heavy and girly cocktail dress. Somehow.
Another quintessentially Milan street style look, complete with more furry shoes. Her rainbow patchwork sweater would be questionable on almost anyone, but paired with a sheer skirt, she throws this bold look in our faces proudly.
How appropriate and irreverant. On the flip side, the rain may have felt unwanted but it certainly made an interesting pattern out of this gal's simple trench.
Funky and cool and totally unique without the help of any color. For Milan, they may look muted, but this pair is undeniably fashion-forward.
An ever-chic but understated (for fashion week and for Milan) look in black and white, with heeled booties prepared to brave the rain that will look good no matter the weather.
Another colorless look that still looks fresh and cool. The textured sweater and leather skirt keep it unexpected as she mirrors the Milan weather in loads of grey.
And finally, a gaggle of beautiful Italian women in beautiful Italian clothing to wrap up this week's recap (because you know how multiple fashionistas is better than one).
