9 Natural Ways to Erase Stretch Marks

Pesky stretch marks got you down?

Pregnancy, weight fluctuations, and even just normal growth can leave behind a mess of stretch marks on what used to be smooth skin. But if you've got stretch marks, don't stress! Simply reach for these all-natural stretch mark remedies, and watch those tiger stripes fade before your eyes.

Coconut Oil

It's the most versatile tool in the beauty world. Applying coconut oil to stretch marks moisturizes skin and reduces their intensity.

Cocoa Butter

A powerful natural moisturizer, cocoa butter smoothes and hydrates skin while reducing the appearance of stretch marks. Apply at least twice a day for a few months to see results.

Sugar Scrub

You can make a simple all-natural sugar scrup with almond oil, raw sugar, and a few drops of lemon juice. Rub into skin a few minutes before showering to exfoliate and lighten marks. You should start seeing results after about a month.

Dry Brushing

Brushing your skin with a dry natural bristle brush combats both stretch marks (old and new) and cellulite. It also has the added benefits of stimulating circulatory and digestive systems, and helping flush toxins out of the body. This guide will help you get started!

Cut Down on Stress

Cortisol, which I'm sure you've heard called, "the stress hormone," is thought to make you more pre-disposed to stretch marks. Make sure you're taking time for yourself to relax and have a few calm moments each day.

Lemon Juice

The natural acidity of lemon juice reduces the appearance of stretch marks, acne, and scars. Rub fresh lemon juice into the skin in circular motions, and allow to soak in for about 10 minutes before washing off with warm water.

Castor Oil

Known for reducing a whole host of skin imperfections, such as wrinkles and dark spots, castor oil (combined with heat) is also a great natural remedy for stretch marks. Apply to affected areas and massage in circular motions for 5-10 minutes; wrap area with a thin cotton cloth, and apply heat for at least 30 minutes. Repeat daily. You should see results in about one month.

Aloe Vera

This plant is world-renowned for its healing properties. Rub into skin and let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Egg Whites

Protein and collagen found in egg whites help make skin more youthful, firm and elastic. Apply whisked egg whites to stretch marks with a bristle brush and let dry completely. Rinse with warm water, then follow with olive oil to moisturize. Start seeing results after 2 weeks.

I'll have to try that as well :) although my stretch marks are on my boobs, which don't really change size significantly when I gain/lose weight -___- I think I'm going to try cocoa butter and see how it goes!
