I wanted to share this continuing trend of 'almost naked' wedding cake with you because, for many, this look is mostly associated with Spring and Summer weddings. Now that we're heading into Fall, there's this idea that the naked and almost naked cake trend should be nixed for rolled fondant and metal finishes.
While I want to agree with that sentiment, I can't. I can't because I truly do love all manner of naked cakes. I love the bespoke and artisan quality to the look of them. I also love that you can dress up a naked cake with elements of the season. This is a year-round opportunity to veer from a traditional white fondant to sumptuous bite of late season apricots, figs and pomegranates.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this cake trend. Is it something you would go with for your wedding? Please share!
