Friend breakup or creative differences?
Ed Sheeran has announced that he will no longer write songs for famous pop Boy Band, One Direction. However it's more of Sheeran showing his flattery than a major feud between the two. One Direction has simply blown up into the stratosphere with an unbelievable amount of success and everyone knows that they know what they're doing now.
Sheeran sat down with MTV and said simply,"They don’t really need as much help anymore. They can kind of do their own thing." Sheeran has been writing music for the boys for years becoming very good friends ever since One Direction's first album, "Moments". So far, Sheeran has penned "Little Things", "Over Again", and "18".
"They’ve gotten to a point where they know how to write songs," Sheeran noted while pointing out how successful Harry Styles is becoming while he writes songs for Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor. Sheeran continued," Harry was 16 when I first met him…but now he’s 21 and has written with everyone in the world and learned how to write songs..."
However even with news that One Direction will be taking a year long hiatus, it's nice to see them develop as artists. And it's even nicer to see rivaling pop stars get along for once.
