We all procrastinate. We procrastinate at work. We procrastinate at school. We procrastinate at home. We are prone to putting the hard things off for as long as possible. It's not great, but we own it. If you want to get better, work harder and work smarter: you have to let go of procrastination.
Here are 5 ways to kill it, and move on with your life!

1. Do the hardest thing first.

If you've got a big project, don't hold off. Don't screw around and do little tasks first to make yourself feel better. DO THAT HARD shit first! This will make you feel more accomplished and it will help motivate you to do your other tasks. It's all about conquering things that make you upset or scared. Procrastination stems from fear of failing. So just get moving and you won't!

2. Set a timer.

I like to give myself 10 minutes of bullshit time. This means, if I'm feeling like I want to procrastinate I can set a timer that enables me to procrastinate for 10 minutes and 10 minutes only. By holding myself to this I can further help myself get more work done. Try it!
You can start with 5 minutes, but I feel like that's too short of a time and there is a big chance that you'll extend your time anyway and fall back into bad habits.

3. Turn off your phone.

This may be hard, but the fewer distractions, the better. The binging of your phone or the ringing of a Facebook or Vingle notification could completely derail your productivity. It's just a fact.
You will get a lot more done if you are focusing your energy in the right places.

4.Surround yourself with active people.

This is easier said than done, but if you surround yourself with people who are "doers" than you'll have a better chance of becoming a doer yourself. We get inspired by the company we keep, and it's a lot easier to become a non-procrastinator if you surround yourself with people who embody that.

5. Force yourself to take action.

The bottom line is that you just have to convince yourself to do it. It's all about willpower. So really, do all of these things in order to get yourself to the point where you can actively just say, "No. I'm not going to fuck around today. Today I'm going to get my shit together."
That's pretty much all you can do.
So put your mind to it and get to work. You will thank yourself!

i found the best way to stop procrastinating is by stop sucking up and not saying anything negative. if you really want to say something negative and procrastinate do the opposite by saying positive things.
