Gigi's little sis is making a serious name for herself in and out of the fashion industry. This fashion month, Bella Hadid has been stomping many a high fashion runway, and I've been watching the precocious 18-year-old. Many of the shows she's walked in this fashion month have been shows also walked in by Gigi, but that doesn't mean they're just a package deal. Nor do Bella and Gigi have the same "look," though you can't blame a designer for wanting both sets of doe eyes on their runway. Still, Bella is breaking out on her own this season, with the following runway shows to prove it.
Alongside Gigi, who may have stolen the show rocking multiple looks, Bella worked it in Tommy Hilfiger's beach bum-chic runway, making crochet and pseudo-khaki look better than ever. Her killer curves worked their magic in swimwear, adding some much-needed sex appeal to Tommy's quirky California-style show.
This was possibly Bella's simplest look, as intended by the Italian label, and she was just the fresh face they needed for their striking pieces in muted palettes. With her hair pulled back and a natural face, Bella blended into the show alongside numerous high-fashion models, showing she's a serious force to be reckoned with in the fashion world.
Diane Von Furstenburg
Bella played the role of feminine darling in DVF's girly show, alongside Gigi, Kendall Jenner, Jordan Dunn, and other recognizable faves. While she looked awesome in the gown, I think she has the power to be a bit edgier than the DVF brand, especially when you compare this look to the other ones she rocked on other runways.
Bella had the honor of being included in Marc Jacobs' notable and theatrical runway show set in Zigfield theatre, alongside the unexpected presence of Emily Ratajkowski, Beth Ditto, and Adriana Lima, but no Gigi. In a clown-couture kind of matching pin-up set, Bella's face became haunting but beautiful with emphasized dark circles and blue lids.
Jeremy Scott's over-the-top and wig-filled show could not have been complete without Bella. Her pout was perfected with pastel lips, and she proved that her trademark stare can pierce the photographer's lens even when partially obscured by a giant brown mop of hair. This was another show where both the Hadid sisters walked and rocked it.
It was no surprise that Bella was included in the star-studded runway of Balmain, walking alongside sister Gigi, Kendall Jenner, and numerous recognizable faces. In black bodycon, her slamming curves spoke for themselves, and a natural face showed just how striking her features are, with or without makeup.
Missoni was another major show Bella landed without her sister's presence. In their too-recognizable stripes, she proved that her curves can work it under layers of oversized silk, especially if it's the precious handiwork of Missoni. That blue mod lid was everything, especially over Bella's dreamy but vacant stare.
Bella also nailed it in Giles Deacon's historically-influenced show, looking almost Victorian in a choker and bustier. Amongst numerous recognizable model faces (but no Gigi!), Bella's trademark serious pout lit up in a red lip, framed by tumbling tresses.
