Hey guys! So I had the idea to share a little about my personal health journey in a new collection entitled Newbie Health Nut Diaries. My goals are to:
1) Encourage others who are going through similar challenges
2) Inspire you to join me on my journey to better health
3) And finally (more selfishly lol) force myself to learn more about certain health topics!
I think the first step towards any type of better health is always education. :) I know my knowledge is definitely lacking in some areas, so maybe there's a chance some of you feel the same way! Let's learn together everything we need to know to understand the basics of how our bodies work and how to treat them well, with the goal of better overall health in mind.
So for the introduction, I'd like to tell you a little about me. I am...
+ passionate about health
+ a sometimes-exerciser (mostly jogging)
+ not super disciplined in my exercise/food habits
+ currently eating out a lot, because I feel too busy to cook
+ never getting enough sleep
+ often stressed out
+ a smoker (I know, I know) for about a year now
+ not very well educated on my family history of disease
That about sums up my current state of health. Am I missing anything? Remind me if I am. But anyway, now for a few of the things I'd like to learn more about...
+ reading nutritional labels
+ practicing yoga at home
+ mindfulness and meditation
+ running and training for a half-marathon
+ having a healthy, balanced diet
+ quitting smoking (it's on the calendar, I swear!!)
+ easy, cheap, and healthy recipes
...and some other stuff too (which I can't think of right now, but I'm sure it'll come to me lol).
So I hope you guys follow along on my journey to learn more about health! I hope to update this collection at LEAST once a week, if not more, with a new informative and short lesson on some various aspect of health.
