Here's the full MLB playoff schedule

It's playoff time!

Who's excited? I know I am - and I bet my fellow baseball fans are too! @mchlyang @christianmordi @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl !!
Let's take a look at the Wild Card and NLDS schedule.

It all gets started this Tuesday at 8PM ET as Houston travels to the Bronx to face the Yankees.

The Yankees could have a tough time with the AL Cy Young frontrunner and 20-game winner, but it should be an intense game one way or the other. Win or go home!
In the NL Wild Card, the Cubs face the Pirates in Pittsburgh at 8PM ET on Wednesday.
This game also features a likely Cy Young winner, as Jake Arrieta will look to continue his masterful second half and knock out the Cubs' division rivals.
After those Wild Card games are settled, we enter into the Division Series. Each series is a 5-game set, with the team with home field advantage playing host in games 1, 2, and 5.
Both sets in the National league follow the same schedule of games.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

St. Louis Cardinals vs. [winner of Pittsburgh vs. Chicago]

Game 1 - Friday [@ LA/St. Louis]
Game 2 - Saturday [@ LA/St. Louis]
Game 3 - Monday [@ NY/Pittsburgh or Chicago]
Game 4 - Tuesday [@ NY/Pittsburgh or Chicago]
Game 5 - Thursday [@ LA/St. Louis]
There's lots of intrigue in the American League, too.
Texas Rangers vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Kansas City Royals vs. [winner of New York vs. Houston]
Game 1 - Thursday [@Toronto/KC]
Game 2 - Friday [@Toronto/KC]
Game 3 - Sunday [@Texas/New York or Houston]
Game 4 - Monday [@Texas/New York or Houston]
Game 5 - Wednesday [@Toronto/KC]

Enjoy the playoffs everyone! Be on the lookout for more cards anticipating and making projections as the first games approach!

I really don't know which Yankee starter I'd trot out there. I honestly might give Severino the chance, live arm, minimal scouting report, and a experience he'll hopefully need for future playoff runs.
Oops I meant live haha. I guess love works too
@karencorchado I shall! It will be a love discussion card haha! Thanx for the support! I really appreciate it
also btw, if the yanks win, they wont have cc throughout the whole playoffs. He checked himself into Rehab today.

CC Sabathia enters alcohol rehab center
CC Sabathia will not be pitching for the Yankees this postseason as he announced yesterday, that he will check himself into an alcohol rehab center. "Today I am checking myself into an alcohol rehabilitation center to receive the professional care and assistance needed to treat my disease. I love baseball and I love my teammates like brothers, and I am also fully aware that I am leaving at a time when we should all be coming together for one last push toward the World Series." The Yankees will play the Houston Astros in the American League wild card game tomorrow. During a press conference, general manager, Brian Cashman announced Sabathia's decision and said he was told of Sabathia's decision through an unexpected phone call from the pitcher himself. "CC has demonstrated a great deal of courage in trying to tackle this problem. Time and place have no bearing. There is something here that needs to be taken care of, and I applaud him." Cashman also said, "What CC is dealing with is a life issue. It is bigger than the game [Tuesday] night." This means that the Yankees will be missing a veteran pitcher in their pitching rotation. The 2007 Cy Young award winner posted a record of 6-10 and an ERA of 4.73 this season. But he has been gaining back his form lately settling down to a 3.80 ERA in August and a 2.17 ERA in September. What is this going to mean for the New York Yankees? We shall find out after tomorrow's game as they could potentially end their season tomorrow!
Back To The Future or the Curse of the Billy Goat?
Yes, the Cubs clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Yes, They beat the Pirates in the National League wild card game. Yes, they clinched the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals. Now, they only have to beat the Mets to make it to the World Series. But there's something more to the Cubs' run for the World Series. As @LizArnone have mentioned in her card, "The Cubs Have Been Destined To Win The World Series Since 1989". In Back To The Future II time traveling Marty McFly ends up in 2015 with a holographic news story blaring the Cubs have just won the World Series. Thats something that hasn't happened since 1908! So can Back To The Future II beat break the famous Curse of the Billy Goat? The Curse of the Billy Goat was placed on the Chicago Cubs when Billy Goat Tavern owner, Billy Sianis was asked to leave the World Series game against the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley Field because his pet goat's odor was bothering other fans. As he was leaving the game, Sianis said, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." And yes, the Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908 nor have they been to one since 1945. The Cubs have been amazing this year so far under the leadership of manager, Joe Maddon. Even though they're two games down in the NLCS right now, they still have a chance to make a comeback and appear in their first World Series since 1945. But wait. Did you know that the goat that was forced to leave along with Billy Sianis was called Murphy? And.... Daniel Murphy, the hot-hitting Mets infielder, who was also the NLDS MVP when the Mets faced the Dodgers, hit a monster home run against Cubs' ace Jake Arrieta. Coincidence? Well, I'll leave it up to you to decide! Who do you think will come on top on this one? 1. Back To The Future II 2. The Murphy Brothers: Murphy the Goat and Daniel Murphy
Blue Jays fight one back
Toronto needed one, and they got it. After dropping Games 1 and 2 to the Royals in Kansas City, the Blue Jays absolutely had to have Game 3 in order to save their season. Going down 3-0 would not have boded well for their chances. Early in the game, it looked like Kansas City was going to continue their hot streak - they scored in the top of the first to make it 1-0. However, the Blue Jays jumped on Johnny Cueto, scoring 3 runs in the second and putting up a six spot in the 3rd. Cueto has been all over the place recently. After being traded from the Reds to the Royals at the deadline in the summer, when he was one of the best pitchers in the league, the long-haired monster has struggled mightily since coming to Kansas City. He had a few good starts in earlier in the playoffs, but was rocked in Monday's game, putting up a line of 2.0 innings pitched, walking 4 and allowing 6 hits and 8 runs. Das not good. Blue Jays starter Marcus Strohman wasn't great - he allowed 11 hits over 6.1 innings - but he limited the damage to 4 runs allowed, which was enough on a night that the Blue Jays really had the bats going. So now the series is 2-1, still in favor of the Royals, with two more games in Toronto before the series heads back to Kansas City for Game 6 and Game 7. It's getting tighter, and tonight's game will go a long way to either watching Kansas City start to wrap things up or seeing Toronto level the thing at 2. Tonight, it's knuckeballer R.A. Dickey for Toronto vs. Chris Young for the Royals. I'm happy to see Dickey, an ex-Met, get a really key start in the playoffs. I'm rooting for the Royals in this series, but think Toronto gets the win tonight behind the veteran starter. What do you think? Will KC take a 3-1 lead tonight or can Toronto continue to fight? @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @SamuelRodriguez @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Link4TW @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @MalikLawary @KyleBerke

This isn't good: Mets in a hole
You blinked, and the Mets are now down 2-0 in the World Series. I knew the Royals were good, but I didn't have any idea how good. Let's be very clear: Kansas City is an extremely good baseball team, playing at the absolute top of their game. Last night, they got a complete game 1-run performance from their starter Johnny Cueto, who everyone figured to be worse than Jacob deGrom. Well, Cueto shined, while deGrom was great until the fifth inning when he unraveled completely. I'll be honest, I fully expected that the Mets would be able to win one of two in Kansas City. I figured that with Harvey and deGrom each having an advantage over their counterparts in Volquez and Cueto, the Mets' hitting would get enough done to scratch out a win. Not the case, apparently. The Royals don't give up anything for free. It's that simple. They hardly ever strike out, and Jacob deGrom - the king of strikeouts - forced a Royals' hitter to swing and miss just three times in his five innings. That's just purely shocking. The Royals fell down to two-strike counts lots of times, but they relentlessly foul off pitches and wait until the pitcher makes a mistake. When he does, KC pounces. deGrom allowed three consecutive 2-out singles in the fifth inning, in an inning that ballooned to a 5-run KC advantage. After that, there was no looking back. Is this series over? Absolutely not. But the pressure is on for the Mets, no question about it. I think today's day off really helps them - it will slow down the Royals' roll, it will allow the Mets to regroup after having it absolutely taken to them in Game 1 and Game 2. All that, plus the fact that now the series shifts to Citi Field. The Royals without a DH will become a slightly different team. In a lineup that has no real hole at home, suddenly the hitting-shy pitchers will have to bat. The Mets' pitchers, relatively speaking, are good hitters; the Royals' are not. Advantage Mets. I believe that Noah Syndergaard can right the ship on Friday night. Really, I do. But I'm nervous all the same. KC is really friggin' good.
The 5 Strangest Superstition in Sports!
Hello sports fans! It's Friday the 13th! Here are some of the strangest superstitions in sports! Michael Jordan Michael always wore his UNC shorts under his NBA shorts. Thus, he wore longer shorts than his fellow players at that time. In the end however, his fellow players followed suit after the legend. Serena Williams Serena Williams is known for not changing socks once during a tournament. It sucks to wear a pair of socks for more than a day...imagine how it would feel to wear the same socks for an entire tournament! I guess Serena doesn't mind it considering the number of tournaments she has won. Brian Ulracher Brian Ulracher ate two chocolate chip cookies before every game. Maybe that was the secret to his muscular body. I think it'd be fair to call him the "Cookie Monster". Caron Butler Caron Butler was known to be an avid fan of Mountain Dew. He loved the drink so much that he drank before and during every game. During his UNC days, he asked his wife to pick him a 2-L bottle of the green stuff, and drank half of it before the game, and the rest during half-time. In 2007, the Wizards and NBA banned him from drinking it during games so he eventually quit the whole thing in 2009. Moises Alou This one has to be the most f*cked up one out of all of them. Moises Alou used to pee on his own hands to harden them! Should we see that as commitment to the game of baseball or just some pretty weird ass shit? Oh and by the way, don't try to harden your hands by peeing on them ladies and gentlemen, because doctors have confirmed that peeing on your hand doesn't harden them. It actually softens them. @jeff4122 @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @InPlainSight @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @salahabdalla @Moose892 @BrookieyElba @SamuelRodriguez @ValerieAlissaPa @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Jovi @Shippudenguy21 @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @Link4TW @ChriSingularis @sanazsanaz @WilliamBrown @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @TravisBeck @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @gatorchick96 @MatthewBoughton @MarcusJiles @BrandonMcNeil @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @manbungo2000 @DerekGumtow @havic @Straightshooter @PhilAnthony @Kirooken @yaakattackk @RodneyYoung @DreJones @JonathanKerns @bnzattoni @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @smothgreen @afxs @johnnolastname @ChristopherKenn @ChasePage @coreywriley91@MikeWolf @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @BrunoDutch @SherzTYC @krishntejanand @addri @ChrisStephens What was your favorite one from the list? MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/29/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Anthony Gose (Detroit Tigers) This one went deep and looked like trouble for the Detroit Tigers. But Gose was already at the fence to leap up and snag that home run from Moreland. He timed his jump perfectly and made the play even better with the nonchalant, sidearm throw after he made the catch. The Tigers fell to the Rangers 7-6. 4. Lorenzo Cain (Kansas City Royals) Another great play from a center fielder! The ball stayed high up in the air for some time and looked as if it was just going over the center field wall. Lorenzo Cain however wasn't going to give up and was not afraid of the fence. He leaped up and caught the ball to rob Thompson's home run. The Royals however fell to the White Sox 4-2. 3. Drew Stubbs (Texas Rangers) It's the top of the ninth with the Rangers leading by 1. Runners are on second and third and a big hit could turn the game around. And that is exactly what Ian Kinsler did as he hit one deep into the outfield. But Stubbs wasn't going to let this one get by. He ran full speed and caught the ball to end the game and lead the Rangers to victory. You could see he went all out as he leaped up the fence and almost went over it. Thanks to an amazing play by Stubbs, the Rangers beat the Tigers 7-6. 2. Trayce Thompson (Chicago White Sox) We all know Trayce Thompson is Superman by day, and baseball player by night. Another fantastic play by the Chicago White Sox outfielder. He reached, leaped, and flew for a couple of seconds to make that catch and end the inning. What a play! The White Sox beat the Royals with Thompson's amazing play, 4-2. 1. Martin Prado (Miami Marlins) I'm just going to say it one more time by Martin Prado is one of the best third basemen in the league. He is also one of the toughest players as well. He made it to the list once again with this amazing over-the-fence play when he chased the ball all the way into foul territory, leaped over the fence, and caught it. Derek Jeter might have left baseball, but we definitely have a lot of players to fill his shoes. The Marlins fell to the Rays 4-2. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! Mets make splash with 2 moves in 1 day
What a day for the Mets! When the Cubs scooped up Ben Zobrist, one of the hottest free agents in the league right from under the Mets' noses, the Mets needed a backup plan. There was talk that they might not have one, but they proved everyone wrong. They made a quick move for Pirates 2B Neil Walker, trading SP Jon Niese for him straight up. Let me be clear: this was a great move. The Mets, with four healthy young arms plus Zach Wheeler on the way back from injury and guys like Logan Verrett and Rafael Montero ready to contribute until Wheeler comes back, had no need for Niese. He was making too much money to be what was essentially their 6th (or even 7th) starter. But the Mets did need a second baseman, and in Walker they got just that. He may not be a superstar, but he is very solid defensively and is better at the plate than Wilmer Flores or youngster Dilson Herrera, who will now have more time to develop in the minors instead of being thrown into a starting role before he's ready. The Mets also scooped up SS Asdrubal Cabrera in the same day, signing the player to a 2-year deal. This one also makes sense, as the 2 shortstops on the Mets' roster are injured and racing to be back in time for Spring Training. In any case, Cabrera might be better than both Tejada and Flores (the guys who split time at SS last season) through and through. Like Walker, he's no superstar, but this was a very good move for a team that needed some depth. Sure, I'm sad to see Niese go after all that he's done for this team over the past couple of years. He's been through thick and thin with a team that struggled so much and he will be remembered as a tough Met and a good man. But business is business, and the Mets got two players that could start everyday for them on the cheap in exchange for one player that they did not need. When you look at it like that - and I think you have to - this was a great day for the Mets. Do you like the moves? @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @SamuelRodriguez @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Link4TW @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @DerekGumtow @Straightshooter @Kirooken @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @ChristopherKenn @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @addri @GinnaL13 @VeronicaArtino @TomasVasquez @GingerMJones @starli @strawhatblakley @FernandaMontalv @jgallegos222 @DennieySnyder @PaulFotiadis
MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/20/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Matt Duffy (San Francisco Giants) A ground ball hit slowly on the third baseline wasn't going to stop Matt Duffy make this amazing play! He made the throw across his body and retired Nick Ahmed to end the inning. The ball looked like it was going to be an infield hit but Duffy made this exceptional play and let the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks. 4. Chase Utley (Los Angeles Dodgers) The ball was shot up the middle but Chase Utley smothered the ball and made a perfect throw on one knee to first to get the out! The 36 year-old veteran has shown strong defense throughout his entire career and this was just one more play that he added to his repertoire. The Dodgers however fell to the Pirates 4-3. 3. David Murphy (Los Angeles Angels) A strong line drive was hit to left field but David Murphy wasn't going to allow any hits. Murphy chased the ball, lunged for it, and made a beautiful diving catch to end the inning. HIs team however fell to the hot Twins 8-1. 2. Eugenio Suarez (Cincinnati Reds) Eugenio Suarez backhanded that ball and it was a long throw to first. It seemed like a very close call but the first base umpire first ruled the play safe. Reds manager Bryan Price however wasn't going to let it go without a challenge. And after a video review, the decision was overturned and his amazing play even got better with that out. It's always so tough to get a lot out of a throw like that but he made it into a perfect play. The Reds however lost 8-4 against the Milwaukee Brewers. 1. Jason Heyward (St. Louis Cardinals) It was a fly ball lifted into right field. Heyward however wasn't going to be satisfied with just one out. He throws a laser beam to home plate and gets it in time for two outs. He got into a perfect throwing position, it was a perfect throw, and he wowed everyone with a double play. And the Cardinals who are the number one ranked team in the MLB, beat the Chicago Cubs, the third best team in the MLB 4-3. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! Joe Maddon wins Manager of the Year
Not that this is terribly surprising, but it's newsworthy all the same: Joe Maddon is the National League's Manager of the Year. The Cubs went 97-65 this season, a year after going just 73-89. They made the playoffs via the Wild Card and progressed to the NLCS, where they were eventually swept by the Mets in four games. Maddon's presence with the team certainly went a long, long way to turning things around for one of the league's most troubled franchises. It's not all about Maddon, though - this Cubs team was nothing like the 2014 edition. The emergence of young future (and even present) superstars like Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber turned this team on its head. The youngsters, combined with amazing seasons by Anthony Rizzo and pitcher Jake Arrieta made the Cubs one of the most feared teams in the National League. Many had them picked to win the World Series before they ran into the piping-hot Mets in the NLCS. They met an unstoppable force and couldn't pull it off, but had a great season nonetheless. In a somewhat surprising move, the Mets' Terry Collins finished third in Manager of the Year voting behind Maddon and Mike Matheny of the Cardinals. Sure, the Cardinals finished with the best record in baseball, but if you ask me, what Collins did as manager was more impressive than Matheny's work. The Mets' head honcho took a minor league roster and guided them through a brutal first half of the season before picking up some huge mid-season acquisitions and turning on the style late in the season, reaching the World Series before falling to the Royals. Sure, none of this actually matters, and I think most people pretty much agreed that Maddon would win Manager of the Year. Many probably picked Collins to finish second ahead of Matheny, but that's just making an argument for no reason. So, there we have it baseball fans: Maddon, Matheny, Collins. Is this the right order? Would you have given the award to someone else? @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @SamuelRodriguez @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Link4TW @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @DerekGumtow @Straightshooter @Kirooken @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @ChristopherKenn @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @addri @GinnaL13 @VeronicaArtino @TomasVasquez
MLB Top 5 Plays of the Day (10/03/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. DJ Lemahieu (Colorado Rockies) What a diving stop by DJ Lemaihieu! He not only stopped the ball, he threw it on his knees to get the out at first. The Rockies however fell to the Giants 3-2. Nice job DJ! 4. Alexi Amarista (San Diego Padres) That was a great diving catch by the little ninja, Alexi Amarista, as he makes an incredible diving catch. That play robbed Gonzalez's potential double to end the inning. The Padres fell to the Dodgers however, 2-1. 3. Kelby Tomlinson (San Francisco Giants) It was a popup to shallow right and it seemed like it was going to be a lucky base hit. And Tomlinson had a hard time finding the ball and that was understandable as he was going for an overhead catch. He however found the ball while running, and caught the ball to get the out. The Giants beat the Rockies 3-2. 2. George Springer (Houston Astros) The ball was hit deep right, but Springer was there to make the diving catch. If that ball went by, it was easily extra bases. Thus, it was simply an enormous play by Springer to keep the Astros in lead. The Astros beat the Diamondbacks 6-2. 1. Carlos Perez & Erick Aybar (Los Angeles Angels) The Rangers needed one more win to clinch the division title, but the Angels were not going to give up that easily, especially because the Angels are one game behind the Astros for that last Wild Card spot. They were down 10-6 but showed once again that the game ain't over till it's over. The Angels scored five runs in the top of the ninth to turn the game around, 11-10. And, with that throw by Perez, Aybar tagged Andrus and got him out to end the game to add another win to their season as they inch closer to that Wild Card spot.
