This leaf bowl looks incredibly difficult to make but it's actually incredibly easy! This bowl is perfect for decorating your home or apartment for fall. You can use these bowl to organize your jewelry or as a candle base — it's completely up to you! This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at Debbie Doo's and One Project Closer.
For this project, you will need:
-- Oven-bake or air-dry clay
-- Rolling pin
-- Acrylic paint
-- Gold spray paint
You can find all of these items (except the leaves, of course) at a craft store. Just go outside to look for some good leaves that you can use as a pattern for your clay bowl.
Roll out the clay and cut out the leaf
Use the rolling pin to roll out the clay. Then, place a leaf on the rolled-out clay. Press down on the leaf so that it makes an imprint in the clay.
Cut out the clay
Use a knife to cut around the leaf pattern on the rolled-out clay. You can do this with many different types of leaves: maple, poplar, etc.
Let the clay bake or air-dry
Place the clay cut-out in a bowl to give the dish some shape. Then let the clay harden, according to the package directions.
Mix acrylic paint
Use a paper plate to mix some acrylic paint in a swirling pattern. Then, paint the dried clay with the acrylic paint. Then, use the gold spray paint to spray the gold paint lightly on the clay. Let all of the paint dry.
How beautiful are these?!
Use them to decorate your home or apartment, or to organize small items.
