It looks like all the stops are being pulled (so to speak, does that make sense? I don't know) for the Back to the Future Day celebration. There are screening parties, that Doc Brown thing, and the twenty dollar Pepsi; there's a lot going on. One of the newest things to be added to this list is the teaser trailer that was released for Jaws 19 (below).
While there isn't any actual footage for Jaws 19. It's kind of a fun treat for people who are really, really into the Back to the Future series. It's only about 80 seconds long and it's just a voice over describing the movies that came out previously; 14 of the 19 films are fictional.
That being said, it's a very particular kind of fun in the way they talk about how the series has changed and followed certain Hollywood trends that have occurred since the last real Jaws sequel was released.
I think it's a small, clever way to poke fun at a franchise without being too pejorative. What do you guys think? I know it's a small little reference that exists in a larger world but at least it isn't a 20 dollar bottle of soda, right?
