Since fall is here and you may want to decorate your home or apartment with some cute pumpkins, here is a way to preserve those pumpkins so that they will last the entire season. That way, they won't rot as easily, and you don't have to keep buying new ones. It's a win-win for everyone! This DIY tutorial comes from the great people at 365ish days of Pinterest.
For this project, you will need"
-- A large tubs
-- Pumpkins and/or gourds
Soak your pumpkins in a bleach solution
In the large tub, mix 10 parts bleach to 1 part water. Allow them to soak in the bleach solution for about 10 minutes. Place the pumpkins or gourds stem-down in the solution so that they don't bob up as much.
Buff the pumpkins with Vaseline
After you have dried off the pumpkins or gourds, buff them with Vaseline. This will give them a glossy sheen that will make them look even better as decorations.
Set your pumpkins out and enjoy the fall vibe of your space!
