Last night, I found myself in a bind. Well, not really a bind. More of a "lonely night". Yeah, fine, okay. I was in my bedroom just sitting around wishing I had things to do because there was close to nothing and I am a lazy bones ghost-being.
But it suddenly changed. I found myself in the annals of YouTube space and I found that Paramount Pictures had started a YouTube channel called the Paramount Vault where you can watch their movies for free. Yes. That's right, I said free.
You can watch their sizzle reel (above) that showcases some of the movies that'll be released in the future. As of right now, there isn't anything in their collection that grabs my eye so I can't really give any recommendations yet but I'm more excited about the idea of this.
It's obvious that online piracy is a thing that people still seem to have a problem with and Paramount Pictures essentially went around that by slowly releasing their movies free of charge (I'm sure there's some sort of catch -- and by catch I mean you probably have to watch a bunch of commercials).
Another aspect of the vault that'll really work in my -- maybe your -- favor is that it really fulfills that "Oh I haven't watched this yet!" feeling. I honestly think the Paramount Vault is a good idea because it'll expose some lesser known movies to a larger audience and it'll be appealing to those who haven't had the time to watch some major ones.
