Young Chop Says Kanye West Is Manipulating Chicago Artists
Young Chop has isn't in awe of Kanye West like the rest of the young artists in Chicago.
When Chop sees something he doesn't like from West involving his friends he speaks out. In a 2012 interview with XXL, Chop said that he felt disrespected that Kanye re-did “I Don’t Like” without first consulting him. “I just felt disrespected ’cause I didn’t even hear the song before it dropped, and I kept telling them that I wanna hear the song,”
Today, Chop stepped up again delivering more harsh words against West.
Chop has gone on to publicly speak out against ‘Ye–most recently during an interview with VICE on Beats 1 Radio–and now the producer is blasting his fellow native Chicagoan for using young artists for his own benefit.
In a string of Instagram posts, Chop makes it clear that he has no love for ‘Ye saying, “[Kanye] use you, try to soak up everything niggas know, get you to write songs for him and then don’t call you after that. Fuck him! Say for instance, like, ‘Don’t Like’ and my boy Vic Mensa. He gonna make it seem like he put them on. And he really fuckin’ didn’t. Niggas started from the bottom.”
Does Chop have a point, is Kanye not giving enough credit to these young people he is working with?
