A Puerto Rican Pre-Holiday Dinner...
So the holidays are quickly approaching and you know what that means..... Shopping Decorating Family Traveling Vacation Drinks And most importantly........ FOOD!!!!! To me, food is the best part of the holidays, waking up early and smelling whatever is coming out of the kitchen. Having left overs for days and sleeping right after a meal. Your grandma, mother and aunts are all in the kitchen doing what they do best and don't you dare ask for a taste. Growing up, I've always loved the holidays. The feel of family being around and the jokes, the music, the dancing, the drinking, and of course the fighting. It's my happiest time. Sooooooooo..... Last week I couldn't wait for the holidays to get here, so I cooked me a nice Puerto Rican Pre-Holiday meal.
Arroz con gandules (yellow rice with pigeon peas) Ensalad de papa (potato salad) Pernil (pig shoulders) Avocado Quineo (boiled green bananas) It was great. All that was missing was my spiked egg nog (coquito) and some family members. It's never to early to make this meal. It's gonna hold me down until the real food comes around next month. HAPPY PRE HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!! 馃嚨馃嚪 馃帀馃挜
