@AndrewKelly You want proof that we all sin? Here! : There is No One Righteous (Psalm 14:1-7) 9What then? are we better聽than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; 10As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
what you have is pocketbook preacher philosophy and not the love of the truth from the Gospel of Christ. Col 2: [8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 2nd Peter 2: 1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. [4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; [5] And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; [6] And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; [7] And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: [8] (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) [9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: [10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. [11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. [12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; [13] And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; [14] Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: [15] Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; [16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. [17] These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
Do you not understand? WE CAN NEVER STOP SINNING. WE'RE HUMAN BEINGS. While we live on earth, we are imperfect beings. We can follow God's commandments and be as good as we can be, but we still. sin. You sin, I sin, WE ALL SIN. When it all comes down to it, Satan is stronger than man. We can resist temptation, but that doesn't mean we're immune to it. But we can ask God to forgive us, and He always will. No matter how much we mess up, God will always be there to say, "You are forgiven." Give me the verse that says we never sin. We were born sinners. God is never an "excuse to sin." I'm sorry to say that I'm a sinner, but it's the truth. Just because one is saved, it does not mean they will never sin. God will lead you on the right path, but we all make choices in life, whether good or bad. I know God loves me and accepts me for who I am. Here's one from your version: Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV; "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (There's not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.) @AndrewKelly
Hell is made for sinners, but only for those who have sinned, not asked God to forgive them of their sins, and rejected His free gift of salvation. If Hell were for any and all sinners, it would be everyone's final destination. Christ died for us so we wouldn't have to suffer eternal torment. He loved us so much that He payed our penalty; He suffered the agonizing pain of crucifixion and the weight of our sins so we could have a chance to spend eternity with HIM. This is a verse you should be familiar with: John 3:16 KJV: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." You are a sinner, @AndrewKelly, and so am I. But we are sinners under God's grace. Accept this, and you won't have to spew verses anymore.
sooo hiya 馃槉 i just happened to see this and am kinda intrigued. @AndrewKelly @funkytown411 @Nellthearrow you all make perfectly valid points based upon the scriptures each of you presented. However its a bit distressing to see one believer fight with another? So ones beliefs differ from another. im sure you each have your reasons, but 1: lets stop blowing up @Ravenwing92 post, 2: stop fighting against each other, bc when it comes down to it, the most important thing is this.....CHRIST was born from a virgin, lived his life having done no wrong, died the same for the sake of our eternity, and rose again to conquer death and hell to ascend to heaven. everything else other than those truths, is secondary. so if you wish to continue bickering back and forth then make a separate post and tag each other in it. otherwise please stop BIBLE bashing each other on a public app and making fools of yourselves. its things like this that harm the reputations of "Christians" to people who dont believe.
