Trevor Cahill is no longer the Trevor Cahill we knew back in his Oakland A's days.
But he was near perfect when he was called up to pitch in the eighth inning of Game 3 of the NLDS between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Cahill pitched 0.2 innings, eight pitches, and striking both batters out.

But something else, other than his stellar performance, caught people's attention.

The Chicago Cubs pitcher was wearing LA Dodgers socks.

So what is going on here?

1. Those are his lucky socks. He's had them since his little league days.

2. He secretly wants to be a Dodger.

3. He wants to crush the Dodgers if the Cubs end up playing them in the NLCS.

4. I have no fxxking clue.

For me personally, it's number four.

HAHAHAHA @shannonl5 I bet that's it!! XD So wise. <3 Wait @mchlyang they can fine him for this... so maybe he did it on purpose to make his managers mad? Is it possible he's doing it out of spite for some reason??

@allischaaff Um probably not, because the Cubs are on a roll right now and Cahill's pitching well. And since they are in the midst of the postseason, I don't think they would want to make such a big deal out of it. But it is a BIG DEAL!

@mchlyang True true. I mean, it definitely seems like it could be an F you (or maybe just a shoutout!) to somebody. But it could also just be he forgot his usual socks that day, or forgot to changeXD

@allischaaff Haha those are all possible reasons why he wore those socks. I really want to ask him after the season is over as to why he wore them though. I hope he has a good story to tell haha
