Did you know there are several Latin communities on Vingle? Hell yeah there is. And I am in there...and I want to talk to Vinglers!!! There are quite a few of them. I am very close to my Puerto Rican roots, and I I know some of these communities help me feel connected to my culture.
In the past few months, I have relived my childhood through the Latin communities. Everything from remembering my great uncle pushing a piragua cart during the hell of the summer, to thinking about how inspirational and impactful Selena Quintanilla was and still is.

In 1997, Jennifer Lopez stars in her breaking role as Selena. In a lot of the shots, she looks just like Selena, it brings a chill down my spine. At the time of the movie, Jennifer Lopez became the highest paid Latina in Hollywood. She earned a million dollars for her role. The movie with JLo was actually a "pre-emptive strike" since unauthorized films we already in the making of a movie on Selena's life shortly after she had passed. Not everyone loved the fact the JLo was chosen to play Selena. Rosie Mercado started off as a photographer, but shifted into modeling after a celebrity photographer told her she had a beautiful face and should consider being in front of the camera. Although she began to take photos of herself, she was often rejected by agencies because of her size. Mercado was about 400 pounds and made the decision to lose weight. During an interview with People, she talked about how her weight gain was due to her hard life. "I hit rock bottom about eight years ago, and started gaining a lot of weight. My son was diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy, my marriage fell apart. Everything that could possibly happen happened." What Does Fit Latina Massy Arias Eat?
Massy Arias is one of my favorite fitness Latina. Arias is a health coach and certified personal trainer. I follow her Instagram account, and everyday she is putting in work. Her diet is pretty diverse -- from fruits, to eggs, to omelettes. She definitely knows balance when it comes to her diet. Here are some of the foods that Massy has been eating: Sushi with a side of house salad and Houjicha tea. Mixed green salad with pine nuts, shaved almonds, cranberries, carrots, tomatoes and cucumber. Meal preppin'. Avocado? Yes, please! Grilled red snapper with watercress, shaved carrots, mixed leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, picked onions, and lime on the side. California omelet with toast and grapes. You guys! I am so freaking excited. We have been blessed with a SNEAK PEAK of the new Selena Quintanilla makeup line from MAC. Last year in Febauary, there was a petition on Change.org, asking MAC cosmetics to create a collection in honor of the Tejano queen, Selena Quintanilla. @JordanHamilton wrote a card last year about it. We weren't given exact dates to when the line would be released, but according to a tweet a few hours ago from MAC cosmetics, we can expect the collection will arrive in October 2016. Her hope is to make a life-changing impact, and help women feel better about themselves. Massy Arias, is an inspiring fit latina from the Dominican Republic. She moved to the United States when she was thirteen years old. Arias is a personal trainer, motivator and activist for women's rights. Depression is one hell of a thing to go through. Have you found happiness through fitness? Massy Arias' story is inspiring because she talks about something that's still so taboo to talk about, but so many people suffer through it. Fitness can build a stronger mind and heal many wounds.
