~Funny Girl Facts: Ellie Kemper~
If you're as obsessed with Netflix marathoning 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' as I am, chances are you have a little bit of a crush on leading lady Ellie Kemper. She's got her own brand of quirky comedy and a delivery style that's all her own. It's kind of addictive to watch!
Want to know more about Ellie? Well, you're in luck because she's my Ladies Week Funny Girl of the Day! Here's 5 facts you might not know about Ellie.. or Kimmy.. or Erin.. or whoever else you might know her as!

Jon Hamm was her high school drama teacher.

I'm pretty sure if Jon Hamm was my teacher in any high school subject, my attendance would've been WAY better. It's even funnier now seeing them together on 'Kimmy Schmidt'!

She and the newest royal baby have the same birthday!

Well, obviously not the same year, but they were both born on May 2nd! Where's my Tauruses at?!

Far before acting, she played field hockey at Princeton.

She was benched 97% of the time, but it's okay, Ellie - you're still the MVP of our hearts.

She auditioned for the role of Ann Perkins on 'Parks & Rec'.

The role ended up going to Rashida Jones, but the directors were able to work with Ellie anyway, casting her in the role of intern Erin on 'The Office'. It was destiny!

Ellie was in a K-Mart commercial - with a live tarantula crawling on her face!

Take heed, arachnophobes! The above YouTube is not for you!

@ButterflyBlu @danidee oooh same here I'm not a huge fan of Piper. Thankfully her role seems to be getting smaller as the series progresses? I think that was the intention all along. They told the story from her perspective because it was inspired by her book, but she's not the norm when it comes to the prison population and I get the impression the showrunners were using her to tell that story instead
