Time is ticking on Carmelo Anthony in regards to his prime years in the NBA.
The window of opportunity is closing, and the grizzled vet is ready to go all of the way. Melo knows the key to victory will be maximizing his potential on both sides of the floor, which has rarely happened for the Knicks.
Looking for a change, the talented forward has put forth one demand to the coaching staff: hold me accountable.
"Call it out in the film session so everybody can see that and hear that. By them doing that, it kind of forces me to be at the top level of my game on both ends of the court," Anthony said after the Knicks' 94-88 preseason victory over the Sixers on Monday. "I think it brings the best out of me and if you bring the best out of me, I think it will bring the best out of everyone on the team."
For the Knicks to make a legit run, everyone will have to play at a high level and pay attention to details. Question is, will Melo and the team rise to the challenge when their number is called?
