The Cavs are downplaying this, but this could be serious.
LeBron James had an anti-inflammatory injection in his back earlier this week, Cavaliers general manager and it could keep him out for the remainder of preseason.
James has been dealing with a sore back, but the injection was mostly performed out of caution and to take advantage of the downtime before the start of the season.
LBJ has battled back issues off and on for the past decade and has had shots in his back in the past. The Future Hall Of Famer has taken various steps over the years to limit the back pain, including using stretching techniques, doing yoga and losing weight.
The team is already short handed as star point guard Kyrie Irving will be sidelined early in the year due to his knee injury in the championship. While the team does have another superstar in Kevin Love, Lebron will have a high usage rate this year.
It may be wise for the team to lean on Kevin in early part of the season and montior Lebron's minutes to keep him healthy for the long haul. If James isn't healthy down the stretch I don't see anyway this team can win a championship.
