Otakus are strictly Japanese people Weeabos are foreigners I just find it a bit weird that Americans refer to themselves as otakus
I think it depends on how each person perceives the name. I know many who just use it as a fandom term. As long as we are all here to enjoy the anime, that's what matters most.
ur wrong dnt mean just japenese but the term was come up by them "Otaku (おたく/オタク ?) is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, commonly the anime and manga fandom. Its contemporary usage originated with Akio Nakamori's 1983 essay in Manga Burikko. "
An Otaku is a person who obsesse over a particular subject dangerously. If you adress yourself as an otaku to a japanese person, they're going to avoid you.
Wow, I never knew this.. Otaku sounds so much cooler though and I can't help where I was born or who my parents are. To be honest, I prefer Japan than America.
@Danse and well yeah technically you're right about that too
