Yes, the Cubs clinched a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Yes, They beat the Pirates in the National League wild card game. Yes, they clinched the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals. Now, they only have to beat the Mets to make it to the World Series.

But there's something more to the Cubs' run for the World Series.

In Back To The Future II time traveling Marty McFly ends up in 2015 with a holographic news story blaring the Cubs have just won the World Series. Thats something that hasn't happened since 1908!

So can Back To The Future II beat break the famous Curse of the Billy Goat?

The Curse of the Billy Goat was placed on the Chicago Cubs when Billy Goat Tavern owner, Billy Sianis was asked to leave the World Series game against the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley Field because his pet goat's odor was bothering other fans.
As he was leaving the game, Sianis said,

"Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more."

And yes, the Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908 nor have they been to one since 1945.
The Cubs have been amazing this year so far under the leadership of manager, Joe Maddon.

Even though they're two games down in the NLCS right now, they still have a chance to make a comeback and appear in their first World Series since 1945.

But wait.
Did you know that the goat that was forced to leave along with Billy Sianis was called Murphy?

Daniel Murphy, the hot-hitting Mets infielder, who was also the NLDS MVP when the Mets faced the Dodgers, hit a monster home run against Cubs' ace Jake Arrieta.

Well, I'll leave it up to you to decide!

Who do you think will come on top on this one?

1. Back To The Future II

2. The Murphy Brothers: Murphy the Goat and Daniel Murphy
