Since I watched the previewed both Asterisk War and The Chivalry of a Failed Knight, I thought I should also watch the beginning of Sky Wizards Academy (as suggested by @RosePark) to see if it really is all that similar!
Don't me wrong--I'm ok with the similarities, I just want to decide which one I want to watch first XD For now, Asterisk War is winning, but we'll see where I'm at when I finish this card!!

Thoughts Before Starting:

Again, I'm expecting this to have the expected genre/plot similarities, and I'm ok with that! I just want to find out what angle of those similarities this one will take, and how it will differentiate itself. I'm impatient so let's just get started XD I'm also going to want to know what @GiovanniSolorza thinks about this one, since they pointed out great differences for me for Asterisk & Cavalry!

Anime Info:

Title: Sky Wizards Academy
Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan
Episodes: 12
Aired: Summer 2015

Initial Impressions:

I liked that you start right in the action, and you're given some feeling of the relationships between characters, but I felt like you jumped backwards in time after that. Really you went forward, but it felt out of order and I wanted action again when instead I just had to spend a whole episode of learning about the relationships. I know that's important, but couldn't MORE have happened??
Anyways, Kanata is an interesting character for sure--I like that nothing seems to phase him, though you can see that certain things (YURIII!!) do get to him. The music in the show so far has been really, really annoying, and was he really 3/3 on making them thing he's a pervert? Come on!!! I'm hoping episodes after this will keep the fanservice but make it a little less....frustrating? Or something, I don't know. I think my favorite character so far is Kanata for sure, though I really loved the idea of Rico--I mean, she thinks she's a goddess, and that is hilarious! Lecty and Misora will surely be handfuls (in different ways). Overall, an interesting first episode.

Overall Episode 1 Impressions:

Visuals: 6
Animation: 7
Storyboard: 5
World/setting: 7
Character designs: 8
OP + ED: 7
Entertainment: 8
Voice acting: 9 (I like the goddess girls' voice)

Will I Keep Watching?

I will keep watching this one, but it's not going to be my priority! I am curious about some of the characters and to find out more of the story (mostly, I want to know why he keeps getting called a traitor), but Episode 1 didn't give me as much mystery and plot pull as some other shows I'm currently watching did. So, I'll definitely finish it at some point, but for now, it's going on the back burner! (Asterisk War will probably be what I watch XD)

That's all for now, folks! ^-^

oh, and if there's anyone who might like this, share it, okay?
It does start slow but its pretty good after a while, but it does take about 4 or 5 episodes (its really slow). I did enjoy to the fullest tho ^^
its first season is done, its based off a light novel
This one is great but out of all the shows that I can think of this one is the least similar to Calvary and Asterisk. You'll get what you want with the fan service without spoiling too much but learning about the girls is what will really get this one has the MC as both main focus and the wise character of the show which is a new twist when you add people not liking him jecause he is a traitor (which you wont know about fully until episode 12 and get a glimpse of in episode 6) all in all second or third best show of summer in my opinion. Shows that are similar to Calvary and Asterisk though are shows like Absolute Duo, No Blade Dance, No World Break, and yes I would still throw in Sky Wizards but tentatively lol. I dont remember the comment about th sky wizards fully sobim gonna go back and read it now lol
This is one for me was okay. Nothing i havent seen before. It did gave it funny moments which was the reason i watched. But as far as battle school animes there wasnt anything to new.
@GiovanniSolorza yeah that's true XD you gotta be in the right mood for it
