Badass Women of Anime: Sailor Moon
So this girl is arguably the progenitor of badass women in anime. Certainly, she is the first one I encountered in my life. She is the instantly recognizable heroine of anime-

Sailor Moon

(also known as Usagi Tsukino)

Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight.

She never runs from a real fight, nope. She's the one named Sailor Moon.

With her Moon Stick or even her Cutie Moon Rod, Sailor Moon was able to use moves like her Moon Spirit Halation to subdue or outright destroy her foes.

More than just an awesome hero, Usagi also kept it real AF. She knows where her true strengths lie; sleeping and eating. She was unabashed about what she loved to do.

At the end of the day, Sailor Moon set the stage for badass women all over anime. She didn't need a man, she only needed her fellow Sailor Scouts and maybe some more food.

I grew up with Sailor Moon. My older brother and I used to watch it all the time. Whenever we fought, we would watch Sailor Moon to calm ourselves down. Now that he doesn't live with us, whenever I miss him I just pull out my Sailor Moon DVDs and call my brother and we talk about it. Sailor Moon is a very important part of my life and I love it so much! Sailor Jupiter is my favorite though :3

I love sailor moon. I will always recommend it to people who are just getting into anime. it actually gave you a female to root for, because so much anime even now the main characters are guys. but I get where you're coming from. Not everyone likes the show, which is understandable it did have its good and bad moments.
