High school student Chiyo Sakura has a crush on schoolmate Umetarou Nozaki, but when she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. When she says that she always wants to be with him, he invites her to his house and has her help on some drawings. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo manga artist named Sakiko Yumeno. She then agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him. As they work on his manga, they encounter other schoolmates who assist them or serve as inspirations for characters in the stories.
Status: Completed (12 Episodes)
The story is nothing special but it's very charming. It's basically about Nozaki-kun's "adventure" with friends to make the best Shoujo manga out there. But the events that occur while working toward the goal are hi-la-rious! You'll understand the humor starting the first few minutes of the first episode. However, the humor might not satisfy everyone's taste, but it did to me. The animation seems very detailed and unique somehow which I can't really describe but I love it.
There are so many characters in here I don't know which ones my favorite. I love Nozaki's naivety and the fact that he's always thinking about manga (many probably can relate). Chiyo is cute, full of life and has a crush on Nozaki. Mikoshiba is Nozakis best friend and he's always trying to act cool but on the inside, he's really shy, basically a typical teenager. I could keep on talking about them all but that would take ages so I'll leave you to discover the remaining characters by your own~
The humor has to be my favorite part, but then again, this is my personal opinion. The characters are just funny and the interactions between them is what makes the Anime so enjoyable. I would expect at least some backstory in this type of anime but there's just a few short moments where they tell you about their pasts. Even though that's the case, you will still get attached to these characters.
As soon as I listen to the opening song, I just start laughing (don't ask me why because I don't know myself). Not saying the song is bad just laughable but the song has the characters essence in it and it's great. On the other hand, the ending song is just adorable!! Some people have said it's annoying (ready my torches and pitchforks) please continue I tell them ^^ It's adorable I say!
Let me know what you thought of the anime after watching or if you already watched it just tell me already! Also, tell me who's your favorite character! I can't pick a favorite but Mikoshiba was the one I liked just slightly more than others~
Hope You Enjoy!~
