@justindiaz Even in Tokyo Ghoul for example, Kaneki was a good person with a heart of gold, but he was turned into a monster. He killed, dismembered, and even ate people. Was he wrong to do so? Yes, but it was all in order to become stronger so he could protect the people he cared about. Even though he'd become a hardened killer, he was still the same scared child inside who just desperately wanted to remain human.
