Welcome back. The past 2 days have been kinda full for me so I haven't had much time to do this daily. This means I have catching up to do. Today's 'Card of the Day' is a strong Xyz monster known as 'Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke'. The 'Battlin' Boxer' archetype is filled with Fire Warrior type monsters. They are level 2 through level 4. They accelerate at Xyz summoning and swarming the field. Sadly this archetype is underrated even though it has a very powerful threat of a card. Lead Yoke is a rank 4 Fire Warrior that requires 2 Battlin' boxer monsters to summon him. He has 2200 ATK and 2000 DEF. I suppose if he would have been 'warrior' specific instead, we may have seen him at an ultra or secret. Seriously, that's how strong this card is. Lead Yoke's strength lies in his ability to 'protect and strengthen'. What I mean by this is that his effect is split into 2 halves. The first effect protects a battlin' boxer monster you control from destruction by detaching one of his materials. That makes him really cool considering it saves any battling boxer, including himself, from any kind of destruction. The secondary effect he has makes him dangerous to fight. Whenever Lead Yoke has a material detached from him, he gets an 800 ATK power-up. It doesn't matter how it is detached, just so long as it is detached. Essentially you try to 'destroy' him, he protects himself and becomes enraged. That by itself wouldn't be bad, but there is more. Xyz block is an awesome counter trap, it is 'Divine Wrath' but requiring a detach instead of a Discard. You get to keep your hand and stop a monster, all for having an Xyz monster. And since Xyz block 'detaches' a material, if you pulled the material from Lead Yoke, then Lead Yoke gets his 800 boost. And that's only the start of the cards that support Lead Yoke. The other card I will mention came out in World Superstars. It's called 'Battlin' Boxer Shadow', he can special summon himself from your hand by detaching a material from an xyz monster you control. At this point I'm sure I don't have to explain how that detach affects Lead Yoke. From great protection to overwhelming offensive power, Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke is a under appreciated monster who resides with an awesome deck. Play him if you want, fear him if you choose, but now you can't say you never heard of him. Battlin' Boxer Lead Yoke is the Card of the Day for October 27, 2015.
