While the 90's are considered the "Golden era of hip-hop" by many, Vince Staples sees things as otherwise.
"There's not a 50 Cent in the '90s, they didn't even have a Kanye," Staples said.
While he acknowledges and pays homage to Biggie and 2Pac he's personally more of a fan of the early 2000s. "The first song I remember listening to was Lil Bow Wow's 'Bounce With Me.' Bow Wow is one of my favorite rappers ever, you could never take that from me."
He later went on to say that “Whatever you were watching or listening to when you were young is always going to be your favorite thing because it made you what you are today,” he tells TIME. “That’s always going to be something that you appreciate the most, so that’s everyone’s favorite era.”

Fellow Vinglers, what do you think, was the 90's the Golden Era in hip-hop?

I think the best time was mid to late 90s early 2000s
