Level Up KDrama meet The King
So I wanna talk about the Drama Level Up for a hot beat! Started watching this Drama and it's interesting so far, about a girl who works in the gaming industry but the company she is with goes bankrupt and is sold to a new CEO who has come in and dubbed the company a fixer, where he turns a company around and puts it back on its feet. He is a very straight laced man who displays nothing, like poker face. This is a show that turns humorous BUT I hadn't known until further into the show that there is a kpop group that shows up every once in a while and does something. me, instant thought oh it's not a real group but damn they are good!!! . . . They actually are a real Idol group called The King. Hunting down the Video of Sung Hoon the main leading man, rapping Okey Dokey with them! Fam tag! Boy Groups That I Wish Would Comeback
This is not a list of disbanded groups, just groups that are still active but haven't had a comeback in awhile! Hotshot (Full Group) Their last full group comeback was 'I'm A Hotshot' back in 2015. They had a comeback in November of 2018 but Sungwoon was still with Wanna One at the time. Now Sungwoon is out of Wanna One but is promoting solo, but still in the group. B.I.G B.I.G's last comeback was in 2017. Benji recently released a solo song though! Heedo and Gunmin were in a dance video in July too. J-Hoon is currently serving his mandatory military service sadly. Cross Gene There last music video (a b-side off their latest album) 'Believe Me' was released in May of 2018. It's going to be weird seeing them without Takuya but yeah I need a comeback! Imfact Okay it's only been 7 months since their last comeback but 7 months too long. I need another! Lucente It's been a year since your debut where you at?? Come back! MAP6 Their last comeback was in 2017. Come back to me!!! MyName Their last comeback was in 2015, where you at my boys? I know some had military service but yeah where you been? Are you still together? MVP It's been over two years since your debut? Comeback babies you were so good! XENO-T (Topp Dogg) They did have a Japanese comeback in 2018 but still!!! U-Kiss I mean I know this is impossible but still. Jun is like the only member that can promote and I don't see it being likely that Soohyun and Hoon stay in the group after returning from their service but we'll see. Varsity It's been over a year guys!!! Vermuda It's been over two years since you dropped this hella good debut on us. Where are you? Victon Bring my babies back it's been over a year. I know Seungwoo can't be with them but still!! I need my Seungsik! UNIQ It's been like 3ish years since you dropped Best Friend. I've seen Yixuan on a Chinese program, Seungyoun with MOLA and on Produce X 101. WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN? Royal Pirates Comeback please!! B1A4 I mean this is just military service and stuff preventing them from coming back but I miss them! Also some mentions: VIXX (but they seem to be planning something so I thought I wouldn't mention them just in case they comeback) High4 (I'm not sure if they are still a group or not? So I won't mention them.) I know all of these are probably because: 1. The company is sleeping on them 2. People are sleeping on them 3. The company is lacking the funds 4. Military Services demanding Members but still that doesn't make me miss them any less! What groups do you miss that haven't come back in awhile?
Fantasy K-Drama Couples!
If the chemistry is not right in a kdrama, the romance is not going to work. When watching a mismatched kdrama couple, it's tempting to think which actor you might have cast instead. Why did they choose that actress and not the other obvious choice? Sometimes actors are cast for their star power, sometimes because the scriptwriter asked for them. Occasionally, a couple is cast because they look good together, but when acting, they lack that spark. You can never tell what will work out on screen. But it is fun to imagine who might be great together. Here are a few kdrama couples that could really work: Yoon Eun Hye and Ok Taecyeon: They did a beer commercial together and looked great as the idol manager and detective. They both have the same intense good looks. She's four years older than him, but why should a few years matter when you're casting a drama? Yoon Eun Hye looked great with all her drama co-stars. She made a great couple with Gong Yoo in "Coffee Prince," Joo Ji Hoon in "Princess Hours," Woon Sang Hyun in "My Fair Lady," Kang Ji Hwan in "Lie to Me," and Park Yoo Chun in "Missing You." She even had a short cameo appearance as the former girlfriend of Lee Min Ho in "Personal Taste." Taecyeon has not had that many small screen girlfriends, only Suzy in "Dream High" and almost Moon Geun Young in "Cinderella's Sister," but Yoon Eun Hye could show him how it's done. Next suggestion is Kim Sun Ah and Jung Il Woo. Okay, he's 25 and she is 37, but she starred with Lee Jang Woo in "I Do, I Do" and he is 26. There must be some way she could be in the same drama with Jung Il Woo. She has romanced Hyun Bin in "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon" and Lee Dong Wook in "Scent of a Woman." Jung Il Woo has been matched up with Lee Chung Ah in "Flower Boy Ramen Shop," longed for Han Ga In in "The Moon Embracing The Sun" and lost Nam Gyu Ri in "49 Days." Please, kdrama producers, make this happen. And finally, how about Suzy Bae and Lee Min Ho? After she finishes fighting her way through "Gu Family Book," she could become Lee Min Ho's sidekick in another "City Hunter" type action drama. She's 18 and he is 25, but she is pretty tough. She stuck it out in that tough performing arts high school in "Dream High" and held her own in "Big." She has enough spirit to defeat the most arrogant character he could play. Goo Jun Pyo, beware. So far, he has been matched up with Son Je Jin in "Personal Taste," Go Hye Sun in "Boys Over Flowers," Park Min Young in "City Hunter," Kim Hee Sun in "Faith" and his new drama, "The Heirs" will feature Park Shin Hye as his love interest. credit:kpopstarz
Korean TV, This Is Just Getting Ridiculous
So by now we all know about Produce 101. In case you don't, though, here's a short breakdown: There have been two seasons on MBC (one for girls, one for boys) that takes 101 trainees and puts them through tests and voting until only a certain number remain and they create a new idol group (for a short period of time, then they go back to their original companies. The channel KBS is preparing to take it to the next level. The company is preparing a show currently called "The Final 99 Match" that will take performers that have had the chance to debut, but never found success. There are plenty of idol groups (unfortuately called "nugus") that have never really succeeded. Ideally, this show is where they get a chance to join a new group and get a shot at fame. That's sort of normal and understandable, but this is where it gets absolutely ridiculous. There reportedly will be 250 BOYS AND 250 GIRLS competing. 9 of each gender will survive and be placed into groups (number of groups have not been decided) I understand that idol TV shows are getting popular, much like how American Idol in the States led to The X Factor, The Voice, America's Got Talent, etc etc etc. But 500 people?! When they've already survived the harsh kpop audition and training system to debut? That must be so heartbreaking for all of them. I'd feel less bad if they were complete rookies with zero training but dang, to already debut...its like NU'EST being in Produce 101 right now. So sad for the fans :/ I wish everyone luck and hope it changes some lives for the better but I have a feeling this competition is going to be a heart ache. What do you guys think? source
