Selena Gomez is extremely fond of Amy Schumer and it's absolutely adorable.
On Sunday, Gomez had the honor to present Amy Schumer with a Comedy Award during the Hollywood Film Awards since Jennifer Lawrence was unable to attend. Not only was Gomez's introduction almost entirely off the record, but extremely sincere at that.
"I talk about her obsessively," Gomez gushed. "I've tweeted her often. I try to impersonate her and it doesn't really work."
The 34-year-old comedian showered Gomez with love on social media following the presentation referring to Gomez as an "angel". It's so nice to see women in Hollywood show their love and appreciation for one another. Obviously Gomez, 23, was ecstatic to just be in the presence of Schumer.
"I actually just met her so basically what I'm saying is I'm really happy that clearly Jennifer Lawrence wasn't able to do this tonight because I love you," Gomez joked.
Gomez labeled Schumer as a comedian of firsts to "speak to the women of [her] generation," Gomez added, "Amy, you've inspired me not take myself too seriously when I sit on my couch and I'm depressed about certain things. You constantly made me feel I'm a bad a** even though most of the time I'm not. You say the things I wish I could say and you never ever make feel bad about anything I do in my personal life."
Schumer quickly returned the love on stage stating, "I didn't even ask Jen -- Selena, you were my first choice."
Schumer is currently in the works with Lawrence on an upcoming film that will likely be a blockbuster. The two became friends during Schumer's big year where she became an A-lister overnight. Not only was "Trainwreck" a huge success, but so was her sitcom show on Comedy Central, "Inside Amy". Lawrence and Schumer partied in the Hamptons together this summer and text each other at award shows.
It looks like Gomez wants to join their squad.
