Some Anime Cliches!

Like any other TV show, movie or cartoon, anime has it's own share of cliches. Some of them are annoying and some others are overused. However, we can't help but still love them as they come. So without further ado, here are some anime cliches!

Parental Absence

For some reason in anime, a lot of main characters (especially big shows) have no parents or are missing at least one of them. Goku from Dragon Ball Z? No parents. Naruto? No parents. Ichigo from Bleach? Dad only. Tohru from Fruits Basket? No parents. The three main kids from Evangelion? Only one of them has a parent. Apparently, if you're Japanese and have a child, you'll have a good chance of dying.

Young Soldiers

To fight a horde of monsters, another country, any type of war, you would normally expect a huge amount of experienced soldiers. This is not the case in anime. To fight anything, you just need a few teenagers with talent to do a better job than having a whole army. So if you want to be an anime character (soldier), the first requirement is to be under 22 years old, if not, well you might as well become a parent and give your children a chance right?

Name Shouting

This is one of the most annoying cliches in animes, but come on....admit you can't help but to get excited every time the characters do it, and that is "Screaming the name of their moves every time they perform it". Might it be Goku (Dragon Ball) screaming "KA-ME-HA-ME....HAAAA", Luffy's (One Piece) "Gomu Gomu....(move)"or the so many Naruto characters and their special moves, you can't help but to scream with them.

Food! Food! Food!

It's no secret that anime characters loooove to eat. We all know those characters that can eat the whole menu and still be hungry afterwards. This cliche is one of the main reasons why we want to live in an anime world. The food just looks better in anime. You can also eat in any way you want as there are no table manners in anime. Just look at them eat, they spit, slurp and it's just messy all around.

Anime is Big!

This is no surprise as "Big Oppais" have become a statement in a lot of animes. I don't mind this cliche that much but sometimes I do think it's just too much. Apparently, age has nothing to do with this specific statement, as you'll always see that one, if not all, high school girls with humongous Oppais. Let's just call this another way of fan-service.

Running and Anime go hand in hand!

This one is self-explanatory so just watch the video. I never noticed this one until recently but man, when I watched the clip, I just couldn't stop laughing for some reason.
So those are some of the biggest anime cliches. I know there are many more cliches but these are the ones that were interesting and/or annoying to me.

What are some other anime cliches you love, hate, find annoying, etc.

@VinMcCarthy and most the times those transfer students are just overpowered lol
well done. to add to the teenager piece it makes us over 22 feel old lol. it's also rare that the MC isn't the best at everything compared to the people that follow him. DBZ, high school dxd and others are guiltily of this. code geass and Freezing change this.
