When A Lego Artist Gets A Little Hungry
A couple hours of Lego-building can certainly work up an appetite, and no one knows this better than a Japanese Lego fan that goes by the name of Tary. Tary's delicious and creative interpretations of popular food items has been viraling over the past few weeks on his personal Flickr account. And many believe that Tary is SO good that he is probably one among Lego's 40 'Master Builders' around the world. A 'Master Builder' is the company's term for someone who has truly mastered using Legos as a medium for freestyle works. Some of these Master Builders then go on to LEGO Certified Professionals (LCP) - actual artists working for the company! According to his social media, Tary also dabbles in creating Star Wars characters and building Gundam, Japanese toy robots. Which explains why this melted ice cream kind of looks like some intergalactic tank. So which one is your favorite? Are you a Lego aficionado yourself? And if so, what do you usually build? This Cafe in Seoul is An Artist's DREAM!
This weekend I went to a cafe called Peach Gray that I am absolutely in love with! It's a completely normal cafe that happens to also serve yummy pancakes, but they give you a little something extra that makes this place absolutely amazing. With any thing you order on the menu, they give you a tray filled with watercolors and a water color brush pen (which if you dont know what that is, watch the video and prepare to be amazed!) It was so calming and lovely! Here's the video plus some footage at one of my favorite museums in Seoul! Who else thinks this is heaven?

Photographer Ari Seth Cohen has spent a good part of his career in pursuit of the world's most fashionable senior citizens. The results can be seen in his charming series 'Advanced Style: Older & Wiser'. (Personally, I would have called it something like 'Watch These Old People Throw Out Their Hip. Emphasis On Hip.' This is probably why I wasn't invited to collaborate on the project.) The faces behind the styles are from all world, representing countries from Italy and Sweden to Australia and South Africa. The series features both women AND men - all 60+ years of age and making you want to let out a 'YASSS! WERK!' Who said blue hair was just for mall goths and punk kids? My favorite thing about WERK! SANTA! QUEEN! is how he poses with his hands on his hips. That's a straight up editorial move. Black-and-white everything with a pop of color. So #goals. I hope she lets her granddaughters raid her shoe collection because DAMN, those are sweet kicks. This woman just oozes so much personality. Check out that hat! This entire look is so incredibly bold and stunning. Those lace gloves are slaying right now. Where was this shirt when I was celebrating my 30th birthday? I Went to Studio Ghibli HEAVEN in Japan!
A few weeks ago I visited the town of Yufuin, Japan, which is nestled in the mountains of Kyushu Island. The lake actually inspired the film 'When Marnie Was There' Add this place to your travel bucket list if you're a Studio Ghibli fan!

Galaxy Girl Come to Life!
I almost screamed when I came across this amazing makeup on the right, done by CoffeeMermaid! I love love LOVE the print she was inspired by, and her makeup is so well done to really capture to the look!! The art work on the left is by Qinni, an artist I've been hoping to buy prints from for SO long now, and yet, I still haven't been able to because she rarely opens commissions & isn't offering the prints I'd like in her shop :( Someday!!! I will get a piece of her art!!! These bruises are fake!!! I'm sharing this because the artist who did the galaxy look said she said she used the bruise technique to layer on the colors, but I can't imagine somehow making it look this beautiful in the end! Here's a video showing the technique, though if you're interested in learning how you might pull something like this together :)
