Genre: Comedy & Romance

Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. At that moment, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they hit it off at once. Somehow arriving at their intended goal just on time, there appeared in front of the two a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl then whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him. "Freshman, congratulations", was all she said, and then left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children they had promised to marry each other one day, fulfilling their dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the examination for this well known private college, but now she showed up in the freshman orientation hall. She too had taken the law school entrance examination, catching up with him there.

Status: Completed (24 Episodes)

I have to say the story is nothing new but I didn't care when I watched this. It's generic, stereotypical and even predictable. However, it will still hook you real good. You'll find every anime romance cliche in it but these are used in the right way. It won't keep making you say "Oh, this again?" or "So Annoying". It is a romance so expect to see a lot of drama between the protagonists with comedy in between.

The characters are what defines "Golden Time". They aren't those typical anime characters with the set personalities, but are dynamic and evolve depending on their experiences and events in their lives. They feel so real and I felt as if I could relate to them. I could even compare some of the characters with of my friends (or myself) going through the same struggles in life.
Here's where the saying "I've learned more from anime than real life"~

The songs in "Golden Time" are one of the most memorable ones. You'll understand once you listen to the openings and endings. I know...I know...I have OTAKU written all over me, I am and will always be a proud otaku! The songs have everything you would expect from a romance anime and what every otaku wants in an anime song~ They are those that you end up loving but want no one to know that you do.
Listen to them after finishing the anime, you'll get the feels T^T

-Reasons to Watch-

"Golden Time" is worth a watch to anyone who wants an anime about a real relationship between adults. It's a great mix of romance, comedy, and drama that will keep you invested and interested from beginning to end. I usually don't watch ANY anime until they release all the episodes of a season, but this was one of the few ones that I watched and had me thinking week-by-week. I couldn't even concentrate in class...I just wanted to go home to watch this.
When I first found this anime, I didn't think it was worth it, but man...I was wrong. Even if you don't like romance animes or are trying to get into the genre, "Golden Time" is a great way to start.
Hope You Enjoy!~
