Space Engineers is a game about, well, engineers in space probably. I recently just remembered my Steam account, so I haven't been playing too many Early Access games but this one looks extremely promising. I mean at least in terms of scope.
Okay, so I did a little more research and apparently it's a "space construction game" I don't know what this means either. But I'm just going to call it Minecraft in space because I'm an ignorant grub who doesn't really care about what this game is at all. But the thing I do care about is that they're adding planets.
And not just as some background element. But planets that you can "fall" (in quotes because I don't really think you can fall anywhere it space. Right? Someone smarter than me please explain this to me) to from space. Without any loading screens.
The way they announced this is by releasing a gameplay video of someone jumping off a space ship and landing on the planet below (embedded above for you, just swipe right). It's kind of amazing that they were able to accomplish this.
I mean, I don't know too much about what goes into making a video game but I do understand that going from one large environment to another without a loading screen is an amazing feat.
Like I said earlier, I don't know too much about this game. But after seeing the scope of it, I might take some time to learn more about it so I can make a decision on whether or not I should get it. I mean, my personal description of "Minecraft in space" sounds pretty cool. Maybe everything is just cooler if you add in space at the end of it.
