How adorable are these cute pinecone turkeys?! This DIY project is great for kids or for kids at heart (like me)! This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at the Susan B. Anderson blog.
For this project, you will need:
-- Pipe cleaners
-- Wood bases
-- Fall foliage (you can use real leaves or buy artificial ones at a craft store)
-- Googly eyes
-- Yellow and red felt
-- Hot-glue gun and hot-glue sticks
You can the majority of these items at a craft store.
Assemble the turkey
Use the hot-glue gun and hot-glue sticks to assemble the turkey. Attach the leaves to the bottom of the pinecone. Then, turn the pinecone on its side so that the leaves are at the back. Then, glue a small yellow felt triangle and a small red felt rectangle to the top front of the pinecone to make the beak of the turkey. Then, glue the pinecones to the top of the pinecone to add some extra flair and to the bottom of the pinecone for the feet of the turkey. Finally, glue the finished turkey to the wood base so that it will stay upright. Use caution when using the hot-glue gun — it can be incredibly dangerous.
Set out your turkey and enjoy the cute turkeys!
