The 5 Strangest Superstition in Sports!

Hello sports fans! It's Friday the 13th!

Here are some of the strangest superstitions in sports!

Michael Jordan

Michael always wore his UNC shorts under his NBA shorts. Thus, he wore longer shorts than his fellow players at that time. In the end however, his fellow players followed suit after the legend.

Serena Williams

Serena Williams is known for not changing socks once during a tournament. It sucks to wear a pair of socks for more than a day...imagine how it would feel to wear the same socks for an entire tournament! I guess Serena doesn't mind it considering the number of tournaments she has won.

Brian Ulracher

Brian Ulracher ate two chocolate chip cookies before every game. Maybe that was the secret to his muscular body. I think it'd be fair to call him the "Cookie Monster".

Caron Butler

Caron Butler was known to be an avid fan of Mountain Dew. He loved the drink so much that he drank before and during every game. During his UNC days, he asked his wife to pick him a 2-L bottle of the green stuff, and drank half of it before the game, and the rest during half-time. In 2007, the Wizards and NBA banned him from drinking it during games so he eventually quit the whole thing in 2009.

Moises Alou

This one has to be the most f*cked up one out of all of them. Moises Alou used to pee on his own hands to harden them! Should we see that as commitment to the game of baseball or just some pretty weird ass shit? Oh and by the way, don't try to harden your hands by peeing on them ladies and gentlemen, because doctors have confirmed that peeing on your hand doesn't harden them. It actually softens them.

What was your favorite one from the list? Do you have any superstitions when it comes to sports?

That's pretty gross for Moises. I've heard players having weird superstitious acts. But that one takes the cake.
That's so lame that the Wizards and NBA banned Butler from drinking Mountain Dew.
I can't stop laughing at these. I don't wanna know this stuff , it's disgusting
@ButterflyBlu Haha agreed, for the most part!
@mchlyang well... For the most part, at least? right?! ;)

EMS Workout Benefits
Have you noticed how much better you feel when you work out? Do you note how you sleep better, and think better? There are many physiological and mental benefits associated with physical activities and fitness. Indeed, many studies confirm the irrefutable effectiveness of regular exercises. Regular physical activities are beneficial to the heart, muscles, lungs, bones, and brain. Exercising improves many aspects of your life. In addition to the extensive benefits of physical activities, there are several advantages that are specific to EMS workout suit Undeniably, the growing popularity of this new technology is primarily due to benefits specific to EMS. EMS workout benefits include; Physiological EMS Workout Benefits Many people exercise for physiological benefits that include improvement in muscle strength and boost of endurance. There are several physiological benefits that are specific to EMS workouts and include; EMS Workout Benefits to muscles EMS training facilitates better muscle activation, enabling your body to use 90% of its potential, unlike conventional training, where you only use 60-70% of your strength. Similarly, EMS increases muscle mass due to the extra stimulation. Benefits to Tendons and Joints Since you do not need to use external loads to achieve deep muscle activation during EMS training, the strain on tendons and joints significantly reduces. Indeed, since EMS workouts are grounded on electrical stimulation and not heavy loads, there is no additional strain on joints and the musculoskeletal system. Vascular and capillary benefits EMS workout benefits the cardiovascular system. Specifically, EMS workouts support improved blood circulation and, as such, reduction in blood pressure. Similarly, improved blood flow decreases the formation of arterial clots reducing vulnerability to heart attack and cerebral thrombosis. Research shows EMS training suit increases blood flow (especially when done in lower frequencies) to muscle tissues. The electrical impulses sent to the full-body suit support blood flow through the contraction and relaxation of muscles. Posture-related Benefits EMS training work the stabilizer muscles correcting and improving posture. Correct body posture is essential in well-being. Incorrect posture is associated with muscular pain due to decompensating. EMS workouts specifically target and train difficult-to-reach stabilizer muscles, reducing postural imbalances of the back, tummy, or pelvic floor. Improvement in overall posture and flexibility reduces muscle pain. EMS Workout Benefits to Mental Health A multitude of research supports the hypothesis that exercising improves mental health. Working out facilitates the secretion of three hormones; endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. These hormones generate chemical reactions in the brain responsible for that satisfied and happy feeling you get during and after working out. EMS is a high-intensity workout that triggers the release of dopamine a few minutes into the training. Dopamine helps you become more alert and focused, improving performance. After an EMS workout session, the body releases serotonin. Serotonin regulates body temperature in addition to adjusting the imbalances in the nutritional cycle. Ultimately, EMS improves mental health by triggering the release of certain hormones that lighten the mood, relieve stress and dull pain. EMS training is your ingredient of happiness! Time-Saving With EMS training, you can achieve a full-body workout in a mere 20 minutes. Indeed, the EMS full-body suit simultaneously activates many muscles in the body, effectively reducing training time. Fast Results The benefits of regular exercises are achieved much faster with EMS workouts compared to conventional training. Due to robust muscular activation, the results of EMS workouts are evident much quickly. EMS workout benefits are not only physiological but also mental. EMS training enables you to enjoy these benefits with a mere 20-minute workout thrice a week! For more visit our eBay store.

Vingle Sports News and Analysis: 11 February 2016
What's up fellow sports vinglers, it's your commentator @KyleBerke aka K-Boss here! Starting today I will be coming out with daily cards for my new Vingle Sports News and Analysis (VSNA for short) series. I'll be discussing the sports results of the day for American football, hockey, basketball, baseball, football, and tennis along with their impact on playoff and draft position. Without further ado, here is the first of many daily VSNA cards! There were only two games in the NBA today as we finally enter the all star break. The under card saw the Milwaukee Bucks handle the Washington Wizards at home 99-92. Milwaukee is currently at the bottom of a scrum of eastern conference teams trying to crack the playoffs and has back to back wins after dropping five straight Ls. Washington is still 2.5 games ahead of Milwaukee but they've struggled to find any consistency lately. They remain in tenth place in the eastern conference. Meanwhile, the Thunder blew out the Pelicans to become the third team this year to reach 40 wins before the all star break. It was an emotionally charged win for the Thunder, after assistant coach Monty Williams wife Ingrid passed away in a car accident on Wednesday. Players and staff around the league have offered support and condolences to Williams and his family. The well-liked assistant coach has five kids, so send thoughts and prayers for him and his family in this tough time. It was a big night in hockey. The Dallas Stars exacted revenge on the Chicago Blackhawks, beating them 4-2. Patrick Eaves had a hat trick and Kari Lehtonen had 44 saves in the road win, while Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane scored for the Blackhawks in the loss. Kane now has 33 goals on the season, but was overtaken by Alexander Ovechkin in the season goal column. Ovechkin had a hat trick to push his total to 34 on the season as the Capitals beat the Wild 4-3. Washington has a big lead in the race for the President's Trophy, with 84 points. Chicago and Dallas lead the west with 75 and 74 points respectively. For the rest of the scores: the Islanders dismantled the LA Kings 5-2, the Flyers blew out the Sabres 5-1, Columbus beat Anaheim in a shootout 4-3, Colorado topped the Ottawa Senators 4-3, Boston cruised past Winnipeg 6-2, and the Oilers bested the Leafs 5-2. The Islanders are currently in third place I in the Metropolitan division, and are trying to put distance between them and the Penguins. LA still has a seven point lead over San Jose for control of the Pacific division. Boston is now tied with Detroit for second in the Atlantic, and bounces back from their crushing 9-2 loss at home to the Kings. In tennis, 1st and 2nd seeds Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer both cruised into the Argentina Open quarterfinals with straight set victories. Nadal is looking to erase his recent struggles and the frustration of his first round exit at the Aussie Open by successfully defending his title in Buenos Aires. Nadal hasn't won a title since August of last year and only won 3 in all of 2015, including the Argentina Open. That's all for today, folks! Let me know in the comments if you want to be tagged in future VSNA cards. Also let me know if you'd like me to include college sports in future cards. I don't really know how many of you are into college basketball, baseball, or hockey but I can definitely cover those if there is interest. Give me feedback so I can improve this series. Thank you and see you tomorrow!
I'm Ashamed of My Hometown
San Diego, get your shit together. Each year at the Padres stadium, Petco Park, the LGBT society in SD holds an event called "Out at the Park" that is meant to bring the community together for an evening of baseball. This year, Petco Park really, really screwed up. The San Diego Men's Gay Chorus was meant to sing the national anthem before the game to represent the LGBT community for this event. Their voices were never heard. The stadium let them take the field, and then as they were about to sing, a recorded female voice instead sang the anthem (which, if you've been to a Padres game, isn't something that happens - we always have live singing) The men had to walk off the field hearing people shouting profane, homophobic things at them. The Padres said it was a mistake, a technical error, a third party contractor, and that they were sorry. But that doesn't explain the other examples of mistreatment. Days prior to the game, the Padres organization told the performers that the chorus would have to pay for their tickets in order to sing. This is not something that happens, ever. If you perform the national anthem, you get to enter the park for free, DUH. Why did the Padres suddenly want this now? That would have cost the small organization thousands of dollars, and after dispute they were finally allowed in as performers. You can listen to their great voices here when they performed in 2015. It's a pity their voices weren't heard this year. Get it together Padres, you're a disappointment in baseball but don't be a disappointment to your entire community.

NFL Dads Tackle Hair Styling In This Pantene Campaign.
Every year, major sponsors shell out some serious cash to grab our attention during the Super Bowl, by far the largest single sporting event of the year. They enlist A-List celebrities, bust out the CGI, and have the ability to transform a typical 30-second spot into a minute long movie of epic proportions. However, if there's one thing that these companies can learn from haircare brand Pantene this year, it's that turning on America's feels doesn't have to be that complicated - just bring in the adorableness of some NFL kids! Pantene's 'Dad-Do' Super Bowl campaign features a number of popular NFL fathers taking a stab at styling their daughters' hair with Pantene products. Like you could probably guess, they definitely struggle through it, but with some adorable encouragement from their daughters, the results are very much 'aww'-worthy. (My personal favorite is pictured above: DeAngelo Williams of the Pittsburgh Steelers versus his daughter Rhiya's braids and bows.) Benjamin Watson, tight end for the New Orleans Saints, displayed some pigtail game earning an impressed high five from his daughter, Grace. (He tried to argue that bigger hands make it hard for athletes to style hair, but he didn't do too bad for a first-timer!) The Dallas Cowboys' Jason Witten's adorable daughter Landry was SUPPOSED to get a braided ballerina bun, but let's just say there were some complications on the way. (Hey, if there's anything the Cowboys learned this season, it's that you can't win 'em all!) Click the video above for a look at the finished 30-second Super Bowl ad, or visit Pantene's official YouTube Channel to watch the full styling videos from each athlete. So how do you think they did? Was this concept just as adorable to you as it was to me? Let me know in the comments below and for more trending videos from across the web, follow my YouTube Nation collection!
Can 'Crying Michael Jordan' get you sued?
The Crying Micheal Jordan Meme was by far one of the best things to come out of 2015. Social media kingpins relentlessly attack famous people across the globe at their weakest moments with a crying MJ meme centered around their latest blunder. It's pretty low, but I must say, it's pretty damn funny. "It just seems to have an appropriateness for so many different circumstances," said Andrew Selepak, director of the social media graduate program at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. "That face can be used for a meme for a number of different levels, whether it's sports or non-sports related. But because of the passion people have for sports, I think it has legs like few other memes that have been popular in the past." It's had an amazing amount of staying power, and like most things that have this type of power, often comes dollars. So when money gets involved, who owns the rights to this? Could a person be sued over the Crying meme? The Associated Press could pursue legal action if it believes its copyright of the image has been violated. "We own the rights in our photo, which was taken in 2009," Associated Press spokesman Paul Colford wrote in an email to ESPN.com. "We could enforce those rights depending on the use and other factors, as is the case with all AP photos." Likewise, Jordan spokesperson Estee Portnoy recently implied that the basketball icon's camp is keeping a close eye on usage of the meme. "We haven't seen anyone using it to promote their commercial interests, which is something that we're monitoring," Portnoy wrote in an email to the Chicago Tribune. So be careful about letting loose a signature Crying Micheal Jordan meme, it could cost you some dollars down the line.
