Darryl "Snake Eyes" Lewis is arguably the best Zangief player in the United States. That being said, it looks like Red Bull has taken a liking to him since they started a mini-documentary series about the journey he took from being an avid fan of Street Fighter to eSports Professional.
Street Fighter II (and most iterations of the game) are some of my favorite fighting games even though I'm not very good at them. So, any time a documentary about the game pops up online, I have to watch it. There's something about fighting games that have connected me with people in ways I wouldn't have if there wasn't a console or an arcade cabinet sitting in front of us.
And it looks like this documentary delves into that bit a little more than the actual gaming portion. In about 7 minutes, Red Bull reminds us that even though eSports is getting more and more popular and the professional gamers that make up this land scape are getting more and more attention, at the end of the day it's about the way games have affected us on a grand scale.
If you're a fan of Street Fighter, or fighting games in general, you should definitely check this one out. It reminds me of my youth and my friends and the way we push each other/share experiences.
