So good posture might not give you true, fast weight loss results, but it can definitely make you appear smaller. The thing about bad posture is that it curves the spine forward, which creates rolls on the belly or make it appear larger. Not only does good posture make you look slimmer, it's also just better for your health.
According to Dr. Mladen Golubic, medical director for the Center for Lifestyle Medicine at Cleveland Clinic's Wellness Institute, says maintaining good posture helps you stay alert and focused.
He also says that bad posture may negatively affect your ability to inhale properly. Bad posture also stresses joints and muscles, which can cause back pain.

So practice good posture! It's good for your health. :-)

@allobaber yeah I think exercising really does help. I have acute scoliosis and my posture can be crappy. But when I was powerlifting, I noticed my posture was wayyy better.
It's so hard to stand up straight, I catch myself slouching all the time. My dad had the same slouch as me but then he started exercising to build his upper back, shoulder, and ab muscles, and his posture totally corrected itself :O I need to get on that haha.
