Okay, how awesome is this lamp?! This amazing lamp is a repurposed thrift store lamp and it looks absolutely stunning! This DIY tutorial comes from the wonderfully creative people at A Girl and A Glue Gun.
For this project, you will need:
-- An old lamp (you can usually find one for pretty cheap at a thrift shop)
-- Superhero fabric (you can find this at a craft or fabric store or online)
-- Hot-glue gun and glow-in-the-dark glue sticks
-- Bright yellow spray paint
Spray paint the lamp base
Take the yellow spray paint and paint the entire base of the lamp yellow. You may need to do a few coats to make the color really pop. Let the paint dry completely.
Measure the fabric needed
Remove the lamp shade from the lamp base. Set it on top of the superhero fabric. Wrap the fabric around the lamp shade and mark with the pencil where you should cut the fabric. Make sure to leave a few inches at the top and the bottom to attach the fabric to the inside of the shade. Then, cut out the fabric.
Attach the fabric to the lamp shade
Use the hot-glue gun and the glow-in-the-dark glue sticks to attach the fabric to the lamp shade. The glow-in-the-dark glue sticks will allow the lamp shade to glow at night, which will be a hit among children (or among those of us that are still kids at heart). Use caution when using the hot-glue gun!
Put the lamp back together, turn on and enjoy!
