Brat Pitt's New Sci-Fi Movie Sounds Insane And Awesome

When you think of Brad Pitt, you probably think giant movie star, global activist, Mr. Angelina Jolie, or something along those lines. One thing that probably doesn’t spring to mind is science fiction. Sure, he shows up in the likes of 12 Monkeys and World War Z on occasion, but that sort of genre fare is not his usual wheelhouse. But he’s working on a sci-fi film, and not only does it sound totally nuts, it also sounds damn awesome. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pitt and his Plan B Entertainment production company have teamed up with Warner Bros. to produce an adaptation of Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff’s  young adult sci-fi novel Illuminae. Before you start to imagine yet another Hunger Games knock off full of angst-ridden teens, love triangles, and some sort of oppressive governmental regime, this is something very, very different in most ways. The plot of Illuminae revolves around a teenage girl, who just so happens to be a hacker, and her ex-boyfriend, who just so happens to be a fighter pilot. While they try to navigate the treacherous waters of their broken down relationship, they also have to contend with a massive conspiracy they discover, an intergalactic war against a hostile alien race, artificial intelligence that gets out of hand and runs amok, and a rogue virus that wreaks havoc. That’s some shit right there. And it’s not just the story that sets Illuminae apart from its YA compatriots. The novel, which just hit stores in October and is reportedly the start of a trilogy (because everything is a trilogy), is also told in a unique, unusual way. The narrative unfolds not just from your normal teenage perspective, but via texts, instant messages, secret files, found documents, and more, in an almost epistolary form. Now that they have the rights, the producers are starting the search for a writer, and I’m not going to lie, from the description, adapting this seems like a daunting task. How to you take such different, disparate methods of exposition, such non-visual cues, and turn that into a movie without losing what makes the source material special? It wouldn’t be the first time Brad Pitt has been involved in an adaptation of a book with a unique structure where that has been bulldozed in favor of a more traditional delivery system. Max Brooks’ novel that serves as the source of World War Z is nothing like the movie. The plot unravels in a series of stories that are the tales of survivors of a zombie plague that is now in the past, and the only thing connecting these disparate threads the person collecting the recollections who barely appears in the foreground at all. Even if they decide to use a standard story structure, which sounds like it would be way easier, but also a shame, Illuminae has a crazy enough story to be compelling as all hell on its own. This is obviously in the very early stages, but you can be we’ll be paying attention to how this develops.

This does sound pretty dope. I'm excited!
This sounds really cool!
When I see the word illuminae, plot of secret society that controls the world since medieval age comes to mind... wait, I think I'm confused with illuminati?

Disney Princesses Singing In Their Native Languages
English is not the native tongue of Disney Princesses. Everyone has grown up with Disney Princesses because they are the most innocent form of childhood entertainment. With the fantastic movies comes even better songs which make them so appealing. Your infatuation with them carries on into adulthood and before you know it, you're sitting in your living room watching the movies singing along with your own children. Crazy right? Well, here's the thing, English is the default language, not the native one. All Disney Princesses have come from other countries other than Pocahontas who was a Native American in North America (present day USA). It brings up a really interesting change because when you watch the Disney movies in their native languages, it has an entirely new meaning because it's authentically and historically correct. Disney Americanizes our movies through using English and we forget that languages play a huge role in presenting emotions, interactions, conversations, and without a doubt, our singing. One of the biggest trends on the internet is hearing a Disney Princess sing her hit song with her own native finesse instead of a defaulted English one. Enjoy and really take notice on the differences in emphasis and fluidity of the lyrics. Because of changed language, the songs also have different lyrics to fit the melody which slightly alters the song even if it has a similar universal meaning. Disney is genius. What do you think?
Wooord!
I guess everyone has some people around them (or maybe not even around, but somewhere), who just hate you, for no real reason. Those, so called people can be your school mates, your friend's freinds, someone you go to college with, your co-workers, or just any other, random people. Those people are usually people we never talk to, and actually never had, but somehow they think they know us, which is letting them to think they have a right to judge you. But, if you worry about them, than you are just stupid. Those people think they know you, they spend hours per day thinking about you. Yes - hating on someone and talking shit about someone is actually thinking of that someone. And you know what? If I tell you about my experience... I have quite a group of people that I "know". Well, they were just empty bodies, strolling down the path of my life, nothing meaningful. Those are the people I don't even know their last names. And they somehow know everything about me, and they feel so happy when talking shit about me. Well, I guess I won. I represent a celebrity figure in their small, meaningless lives. They are spending a lot of their moment on hating on me, and if they are actually so jelous of my life, well than let they! If talking shit about me makes them feel better, let they do it. I don't care. I don't know them. I will never meet them. If they die (sorry for exaggerating) I won't even know, if I die (again, sorry) their world would change like a lot. I am such a big part of their lives, bud saddly it only goes one way - for all the haters out there: Sorry, but who the fuck are you?
How To End Disney Movies In 30 Seconds
Classic Disney movies all roughly fell into a similar formula. The main character fell in love, wanted the other character to fall in love with them too, had a huge secret, and well, the big reveal climax got all sorts of complicated. It's something that's worked for filmmakers and often satisfied the typical 90-minute film length. However, an artist has reimagined just how easy it would have been to end the main character's plight in 30 seconds or less. Movie: 'The Lion King' (1994) Plight: Scar kills Simba's dad; Simba goes on a soul-searching journey. Suggested Solution: Simba could have spared himself the journey and just tell everyone that Scar was the one who did it. While this makes for a pretty hilarious comic, Simba didn't actually know that Scar was the one who did it until he was much older and Scar confessed. So this one probably wouldn't have worked. Movie: 'Aladdin' (1992) Plight: The Genie says that Aladdin has three wishes, but he cannot wish for love, the resurrection of someone who died, or additional wishes. Suggested Solution: Aladdin wishes for lust, retroactive immortality, and 100 more genies. I... have never noticed how glaringly obvious the decision to wish for more genies was until now. Aladdin, why didn't you wish for more genies? Are you insane?! Movie: 'Cinderella' (1950) Plight: Prince Charming forgets who Cinderella is and hunts her down by trying to place her glass slipper on the feet of all the single ladies. Suggested Solution: Prince Charming asks her for her name and actually remembers what she looks like. How much of a doofus could you be, Prince Charming?! I mean, you spend a whirlwind romantic evening with a mysterious lady, and you don't even ask her what her name is? Movie: 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' (1937) Plight: The Evil Queen feeds a poisoned apple to Snow White, and she falls into a deep sleep. Suggested Solution: Snow White bribes the Queen's court attendants with the dwarfs' diamonds and gets the Evil Queen locked up. Am I the only one who doesn't understand this one? How did Snow White figure out what the Evil Queen was up to? Is this post-apple or pre-apple? A girl's got questions. Movie: 'Mulan' (1998) Plight: Mulan fights for the Chinese military on behalf of her father - disguised as a dude. Suggested Solution: Mulan confesses to being a woman, wows her casual misogynist comrades with her epic pet dragon. This could probably work, but wasn't Mushu kind of a wimpy dragon? I've only seen 'Mulan' once, but I'm pretty sure those same dudes were making fun of him for being hella weak. Movie: 'The Little Mermaid' (1989) Plight: Ariel (a little mermaid) sacrifices her voice in exchange for legs in order to meet the hunky sailor she saved from drowning, struggles pretty hard in finding ways to communicate. Suggested Solution: Ariel finds a pen and paper and lets him know what's up. THIS IS THE MOST OBVIOUS SOLUTION OF ALL TIME. Remember when Ariel signs Ursula's contract? I mean, CLEARLY Ariel knows how to write. I'm shaking my head. Anyway, what do you guys think? Do you think you can come up with any others?
It's always up to you!
First of all, I am really happy to be back, to be vingle active. I took some time, away from all the internet and mass media kind of life, which I think it is something everyone of us should do every once in a while. It feels so good. But I have to say, I did miss Vingle, I missed all you lovely vinglers, sharing interesting and funny cards, and now, I am ready for round 2.0. And what is better to post, that this amazingly deep picture (which I am sure, a lot of you have already seen it, am I right?) But in case you havent, take a couple of minutes, read the text carefuly and think. Reading it over and over again makes it even better. It is a great example to approve that it is always up to us, everything. A bad thing, doesn't always have to be a bad thing, you can try and find something positive, and if you try really hard, I'm sure you'll find it. It's only a matter of perspective, and it is so easy, just to flip the case over and embrace the situation. Even if you don't agree with me, at least try. It took me quite a long time to realize this meaningful message, but now I can say, my way of thinking changed. And for the better. Think good, be good and spread the good. I share this card with all the vinglers, but at the same time I want to say "Hi" to some of you: @allischaaff @marshalledgar @alywoah @LauraFisher @TerrecaRiley @nicolejb @shannonl5 @2littlelegs @TessStevens @LizArnone @danidee @skee292 @buddyesd @onesmile @VinMcCarthy @ShadowAnggel87
