Even though the flowers aren't blooming anymore on the ground, there is no reason that they can't bloom in your apartment or home. Take a fall nature item, the pinecone, and turn it into something that will add a little life and color to your living space, a flower. This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at A Fanciful Twist.
For this project, you will need:
-- Pinecones (you can just pick up some from outside, just make sure they don't have any bugs in them)
-- Acrylic paint
-- Scissors or lawn clippers
You can find most of these items at a craft store.
Paint the pinecone
Flip your pinecones over and use the paintbrush and paint to paint the pinecones. You may have to do a few coats to really make the colors pop. You can add a little bit of yellow paint to the middle of the bottom of the pinecone to make a center for the flower. Let the paint completely dry before moving on to the next step.
Clip off the bottoms of the pinecones
Take the scissors or lawn clippers and cut off the extra part of the pinecone that is at the bottom once you have painted the pinecones into flowers, as shown in the picture above.
Set these flower pinecones out in your living space and enjoy!
