[Poll] Where will Guardiola end up?
It's one of the burning questions in the football world these days: Where will Pep Guardiola coach next season? I'd love for us as a Vingle community to take a stab at it. We know that Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season (and Carlo Ancelotti has already been named his successor), but there is not yet any indication of where Guardiola will be next year. Lots of speculation, no certainty. Here are some of the possibilities. Manchester United Louis van Gaal will be lucky to last to the end of this season at the rate things are going right now. I wrote last week about the possibility that Mourinho could move in and take van Gaal's position before the end of the season, but assuming there is a vacancy at the end of the year, United could be a very attractive option for Guardiola. He loves the big clubs, and United have the biggest market of any club in Europe. It could be a great match. Manchester City Perhaps Guardiola will prefer Manchester's blue half. City are a club with bags and bags of money and that will be an extremely attractive aspect of the club for Guardiola, who will no doubt want to make some transfers wherever he goes to make his own mark on the team. Current manager Manuel Pellegrini is struggling this season, and the consensus seems to be that if he fails to win the Champions League this year, his time at City will be up. Guardiola would be the perfect replacement for the ever-ambitious City. Chelsea Chelsea just appointed Guus Hiddink their interim manager after firing Jose Mourinho, but I don't see Hiddink staying past this season. He derailed the Dutch national team and is a huge part of the reason they failed to qualify for the Euros and I don't think he'll do enough in his few months at Chelsea to turn the team around and convince the board that he's the man for the job. So, there could well be a vacancy in London come the end of the season. Guardiola is a great option for any club, but it makes tons of sense for him to take over Chelsea. They've got lots of money, but an old squad that needs to be retooled, and Guardiola coudl be just the man for them. My money is on Manchester City to be the landing place for Guardiola. I think he's going to be highly coveted, but City will be able to offer him more money than any other team and I think he's going to drool at the chance to take a team from aspiring world forces to the best team in the whole world, as he has done in the past with Barcelona and currently Bayern Munich. What do you think? Could Pep end up outside of England? It's possible, but I bet he's in the Prem next season. Where do you think he'll be? @InPlainSight @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @MarcusJiles @DerekGumtow @havic @yaakattackk @bnzatton @SherzTYCi @krishntejanand @addri @mishthi @andwas @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @starli @kyleatekwana @BenjiPhilip @Eduardo14 @AshfakEjaaz @EmanueleYagoda
Tips to Encourage Your Kids to Participate in Sports
Physical activity is an important part of any child’s health, learning, and well-being. As a parent, helping your child participate in sports should be a huge priority. While this is true, some kids don’t have a natural inclination to play. Even though this may be the case, here are steps parents can take to foster and encourage their children to participate in sports. Lead by Example Your child is a sponge. They absorb their understanding of life by watching what you, their parents (and other adults in their lives) do. This can often be a blessing and a curse. After all, you don’t want your child doing everything you do. For example, if your child sees you laying on the couch, doing nothing active all day, they aren’t going to see the value of exercising. It’s up to you to show the value of sports by participating in them, too. You can find several ways to show your love for sports. Most of these will benefit you and your child. You can go for a run after work, join the local gym, or join an after-work kickball team. You should also start investing in quality sports gear such as quality softball bats, kickballs, and more. Play Sports with Your Child Nothing is quite as “American” as tossing a baseball in the front yard with your child. While this may seem somewhat cliché, the benefits go beyond just spending time together. Your child’s association of sports and fun begins with you, their parents. As mentioned above, your child will generate their idea of normalcy by watching what you do. You can impart how important sports are by engaging in fun athletic activities with one another. Take time to teach your child to ride a bike, and then take this activity a step further by going on bike rides together. This can be simple, such as a ride down the street or riding down a trail on your mountain bike. You can purchase a basketball hoop and teach your child the basics of shooting and dribbling. If you want to go to the gym instead, take your child along and participate in different activities together. You should take time to introduce your children to the sports that you enjoy playing. However, as time passes, pay attention to your child and see if they are having fun with the activities you are participating in. It is completely possible that the sport you love to play won’t be interesting to them. While this is true, you should consider introducing them to as many different sports as you can to see if your child is inclined to this. Keep Things Fun No one wants to do something that feels like a chore. Kids are going to learn that sports are important by watching you (their parents) play. They are also going to learn that sports are fun by watching others enjoy playing them, too. If you take time to teach your child baseball, basketball, or another sport, make sure that you don’t put too much pressure on them. Instead, keep things light and maintain a sense of humor while you play. Your child isn’t going to want to learn how to shoot a basketball the right way if they don’t enjoy playing the game. Before anything else, be sure you and your child are having fun together. Enjoying Sports with Your Child As you can see, there are more than a few ways that you can begin enjoying sports with your child. Take some time to begin playing and see what your child enjoys. By doing this, you can see what they like and begin fostering that sport and playing with them. Remember, the more you play the sport with your child, the more interested in it they will be. Keep this in mind to ensure you and your child have a lifelong love of sports that will be good for their body and mind.
Champions League fixtures released!
The fixtures for the Last 16 of the Champions League have been released! Here are the highlight match ups. PSG - Chelsea Two teams that have met lots of times in the Champions League in recent years. Chelsea will be fighting hard in the league and may be low on energy. PSG will have already wrapped up their Ligue 1 title and will be able to focus on progressing. The pick: PSG. Arsenal vs. Barcelona Arsenal earn the toughest draw of all, playing against the near-perfect team that is Barcelona. It's going to be very difficult for them to beat Barcelona on a home-home aggregate. I don't see them pulling it off. The pick: Barcelona. Juventus vs. Bayern Munich This is the real gem of the Round of 16 match ups. Juventus pay the price for failing to finish first in their group and have to play Bayern, while Bayern get the toughest of the second-place teams in Juventus, who were finalists last year. The pick: Bayern. Gent vs. Wolfsburg I love it when two of the lower teams are matched up against one another, as it guarantees that we'll see one of these teams in the Last 8. Gent are a real miracle story after beating Valencia to the last 16 in the group, but I'm not sure they can beat Wolfsburg, who are playing well in Germany and in Europe. The pick: Wolfsburg. The other matches in the Round of 16 include: Real Madrid vs. Roma Benfica vs. Zenit PSV vs. Atlético Madrid Dynamo Kiev vs. Manchester City But the ones I've outlined above are the real standouts. Those are the matches to look forward to. The Round of 16 will be played on February 16, 17, 23, 24, and March 8, 9, 15, and 16. We've got a long time until then and form could easily change - I'll revisit these predictions when the time gets closer! Are you looking forward to the matches? @InPlainSight @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @MarcusJiles @DerekGumtow @havic @yaakattackk @bnzatton @SherzTYCi @krishntejanand @addri @mishthi @andwas @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @starli @kyleatekwana @BenjiPhilip @Eduardo14 @AshfakEjaaz @EmanueleYagoda
