With it being Thanksgifting Week (according to Home Shopping Network), I thought it would be nice to gift this GORGEOUS cocktail recipe that I found on Imbibe Magazine with Vingle and dedicate it to both @Rodiziketan and @Allobaber.
I wanted to dedicate it to these two Vinglers because they have been especially delightful, encouraging, inquisitive, and all that regarding the cards that I have shared in the past. I have LEARNED A TON about mixology from @Rodiziketan, but the most important thing of all is to use FRESH INGREDIENTS! It actually makes a big difference in just how fabulous your drink can and will be.
And then there's @Allobaber, who is ALWAYS a ray of sunshine and positivity. Like, does anything get this girl down?! I admire her ability to make things bright and sunny. And I would be lying if I said that I didn't LOVE the LoveBugs in the Love and Relationship Community. If you've never checked it out, then it's time you did!
Jagermeister--what was once the shot glass-only liquor--has shimmied its way into all manner of cocktail glasses. Don't ask any questions or say it out loud, but its masculinity appears to be a bit more relaxed than it has ever been.
Mixologists all over are taking the cardboard cutout, that is Jager, and turning it into some curious-looking refreshments.
Blank Slate was created by Sean Hoard of Portland Oregan's, The Commissary:

Blank Slate

2 oz. Jägermeister
¾ oz. fresh grapefruit juice
¼ oz. fresh lemon juice
¼ oz. pear brandy (Hoard uses Clear Creek)
¼ oz. ginger syrup
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: Old fashioned
Garnish: sliced fresh ginger
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice, strain over ice into a rocks glass, and top with approximately 1 oz. of soda water.
Everything about this says Thanksgifting to me. Special thanks to Vingle, all the Vinglers that I get to interact with on a daily basis, my buds, @Rodiziketan and @Allobaber, and the really cool people that I have gotten to meet and mingle with on here!!!!!
Awwww @marshalledgar you're the sweetest!!!! I love this!!! And I must agree with @rodiziketan – based on the recipe, this looks AMAZING. I miss you two <333 I'm so sorry it's been a while since I've been around -___- I've been so busy with family and Thanksgiving and all that. I'm the worst, I know. But it's always nice to reunite with my favorite Vingle mixologists :) hope you're both doing super well!! :*
first of all, thank you for all the compliments and the tag(s) lol :) and this drinks sounds incredible. If I needed to award one cocktail only based on its recipe (without even trying it) this would be it. The combination seems sooo great. I like how it looks and I like how it sounds. Making this for this christmas for my family, and I will let you know how we liked it. And thanks again, you made my day with this amazing recipe and even more amazing card. :) @marshalledgar
yes, it really has been a while, but I am also busy with school, so I understand you well. :) @AlloBaber but, after the holidays, I know it's gonna get back to "normal" :)
I'm not quite in citrus country, though, we do grow tons and tons of oranges out here. I have never heard of white grapefruit. I must be living under a rock. I need to get out more in LA!! If you can do both, then do both. THat would be cool to see if there's much of a difference between the two. @rodiziketan
and just to be sure, the recipe calls for white grapefruit juice, right? I assume by the color of the cocktail :) @marshalledgar
