Jessica Jones: Killer Quotes
SPOILERS, maybe... Okay, now that I have hit the end of the purple corridor, I am just going to admit that I have fallen down a rabbit hole from which I have no intention of crawling out. "Not sure" to "die-hard fan" and "now Im going to hunt down every Jessica Jones issue I can" in two days flat......yeah, this is probably that part where you mutter "well, THAT escalated quickly" sideways, to no one in particular. Yes, there will be many a-card a-comin'! ♡♡♡♡♡ I just want to tell everyone who likes fast-paced repartee...wit certainly abounds in the realm of Jessica Jones. I'd like to share a handful of my favorites (OH so MANY to choose from!).
I am so sorry. Kilgrave's mother says this. If you're a Whovian, you'll understand. Or maybe it was just me. Bad time to laugh out loud, for sure! But I can't help the way my mind works.
Malcolm: You use sarcasm to distance people. Jessica: And yet you're still here. Now go the hell home! No, sarcasm is not an effective deterrent. If anything, it draws crowds.
Jessica: If you're so great, why'd they let you out of Spec Ops? Simpson: It's classified. Jessica: Of course it is. How convenient! {eye roll}
Jessica (narrative): Cheaters are good for business. A big part of the job is looking for the worst in people. Turns out I excel at that. Clients hire me to find dirt. And I find it, which shouldn't surprise them, but it does. Knowing it's real means they gotta make a decision. I'm not sure why, but I was getting some major Veronica Mars deja vu throughout this intro. Was it just me? I liked it, though!
Luke: There's... something between us. Kilgrave: But she lied to you. Luke: Yes. Then she told me everything. Kilgrave: Oh, look at that, Dad. Jessica being honest with someone. Tell me the truth, did you bugger my chances with her? Luke: No. You screwed that up yourself. Kilgrave: I'll have to think of a fitting response to that. I don't know about anyone else, but it was deeply satisfying when Luke so smoothly stole Kilgrave's thunder. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ I have more, lots more...but I want to know, what were your favorite lines? If you've watched the show, feel free to comment below! If you have not, this might be a good time to inject a Spoiler Alert...just in case! @shannonl5 @LAVONYORK @ButterflyBlu @danidee @hikaymm @InPlainSight @MichaelOgg @Kirooken @DerpyPantz @Lawlpool @ChosenKnight @GinTenma @nicolejb @Namrow @brandongromala @shantalcamara @superwholocked @DanRodriguez @imTANNERthanU @paulisaghost

@ChosenKnight that's a tough question! I want to say that it was criticism (especially since Luke Cage was such an important part of the show) but since it wasn't the main focus it's really difficult. It's something I'd like the writers to talk about or expand upon for sure. Jessica definitely messed up with the way she treated him at the hospital, but I think that moment where you see his face.... you can tell she knows what she did was really wrong. And then realizing that Kilgrave had done something similar on a bigger scale... to me it says that the show is pointing out that this kind of behavior doesn't come from nowhere, that we all have to be vigilant so we don't end up doing something cruel.

yes I agree. I think that there were so many hidden meanings an underlying messages, its now hard for me to under stand if they were coming from a good place with Malcolm and even Luke.I'll address it more in my card(whenever I have time to make it lol).I just think that they used their poc characters well in some areas,but not so well in others.but again I don't know if this was just the normal racism I usually see in shows,or genuine criticism of societies treatment towards us.

@ChosenKnight I definitely agree with you, I'm looking forward to that card! I'm hoping more of this gets addressed when Luke Cage comes out. It feels like the people working on Jessica Jones were very sympathetic to the realities of rape culture and what it means to be a victim. I'd like to see Luke Cage dealing with the realities of institutional racism. That being said, I think Jessica Jones did a bit better than Daredevil. I don't want to post spoilers though if you haven't seen it!

yes.them addressing those issues is definitely something that I feel the they did right.Its something that I really admire them for addressing.because that's what we have been talking about,marvel using their characters and story lines to address serious issues.They definitely should continue doing it. And as for Luke Cage,could you just imagine how great that would be if they did?especially since Luke being unlawfully incarcerated was how he got his powers in the first place.o won't hold my breath,but I really hope they go that route.
