Bring the popular Christmas movie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, to your stomach with this Grinch popcorn DIY project. This DIY tutorial comes from the wonderfully creative people at Two Sisters Crafting.
For this project, you will need:
-- 1/2 cup Popcorn Kernels
-- 2 tbsp. Canola Oil
-- 1/4 cup Butter (Sweet Cream Salted)
-- 3 cups Mini Marshmallows
-- Blue Food Coloring
-- Yellow Food Coloring
-- 1/2 Cup Mini Marshmallows
-- M&M Candies – Red
-- Large plastic bowl
-- Cookie sheet
-- Aluminum foil
You can find all of these items at a grocery store.
Make the popcorn
Pop the popcorn. You can use the microwave popcorn or make it the old-fashioned way — it's completely up to you! Add salt to the popcorn.
Make the marshmallow mixture
Melt the butter in the in a saucepan. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows to the saucepan and melt the marshmallows. Turn off the heat. Then, add some yellow food coloring. Mix the yellow food coloring into the mixture. Then, add some blue food coloring and mix it into the mixture.
Pour the mixture over the popcorn
Pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Add the mixture gradually and mix the mixture into the popcorn in between each added mixture.
Add the toppings
Take the popcorn out of the bowl and lay it on a baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Then, add some more marshmallows and red M&Ms to the top of the popcorn, as shown in the picture above.
Let the popcorn cool, serve and enjoy this delicious treat!
