What a shocking turn of events it's been for former Olympian Oscar Pistorius.
Just four years ago, Pistorius was one of the sports world's most favorite success stories. The double-amputee competed for South Africa in the 2012 Summer Olympics, alongside fully able-bodied sprinters, and performed admirably. While he didn't come up with a medal, the sprinter still manager to make a name for himself as a real fighter and a man with incredible heart and passion.
Today, though, Pistorius was found guilty of murdering his girlfriend in 2013.
While he had originally been found guilty of manslaughter, Pistorius, who shot Reeva Steenkamp four times through a closed door in their home, had his sentence changed today and will be taken off house-arrest and moved to prison. The minimum sentence for murder in South Africa is 15 years.
It's shocking to look at the above photo and to imagine Pistorius brutally murdering the beautiful woman next to him.
It's absolutely heart-breaking, to see an athlete that we once all loved really fall into the pits of the most heinous human act.
