Take your old corks from all of the wine you are drinking over the holidays and repurpose them into these adorable reindeer with this DIY project. This DIY tutorial comes from the wonderfully creative people at Make the Best of Things.
For this project, you will need:
-- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
-- Wood sticks
-- Wire cutters or strong scissors
-- Fuzzies, a small red bead and a small red ribbon
You can the majority of these items at a craft store.
Attach the legs
Use the wire cutters or strong scissors to cut the sticks into smaller sticks that are about the same size. Then, use the ends of the sticks to put a small dent in the cork where you want the legs to go. Then, use the hot-glue gun to glue the stick legs into the cork, as shown in the picture above. Use caution while using a hot-glue gun!
Attach the head of the reindeer
Take another stick and make it into a neck and use the hot-glue gun to attach the head to the body. Then, use sticks that have a split at the end for the reindeer antlers. Glue the antlers to the top of the head using the hot-glue gun.
Add embellishments to the reindeer
Add a small red bead to the top of the cork head for the red nose of the reindeer. Then, add some fuzzies or a small red ribbon on the neck to add some flair to your reindeer.
Set up the cork reindeer in your living space and enjoy!
