I feel my best when I am fit and healthy. It's true what they say, it's a lifestyle. When I started my weight loss journey, I was in it to win it. After awhile, I built a routine that made it easier to stick to a healthier lifestyle. I was focused more on routine, rather than rules.

1) Going To Bed Early

These days I've been snoozin' very early. Ever since I've gotten back into the gym game, I take sleep more seriously. Sometimes I go to sleep as early as 8:30AM. And even though I am ending the day early, I find myself much more productive.

2) Waking Up Early

Since I do head to bed very early, I do wake up early. A usual wake up time would be around 5:30AM. This gives me ample time to prepare my coffee, have a small snack, and have alone time for about an hour until it's time to hit the weights. The best part about going to the gym early in the morning? I get it out of the way and gives me a surge of energy that sustains me throughout the day.

3) Staying Hydrated

I am constantly drinking water. This helps me gauge when I am actually hungry, or just hydrated. Also, I feel refreshed. And with that, I do try to avoid juices or sodas. I stick to water, coffee, and tea!

4) Having My Alone Time

Alone time is very important to me. I set time in the mornings and evenings to just focus on myself. Sometimes I just read, write, or think. But I remove myself from my work, the phone, or anything that would remove me from quiet time. I try to do this for at least 30 minutes -- this helps me feel relaxed, calm, and rejuvenated.

5) Listening To Music Helps Set The Mood

Music gets me into the kind of moods I need to be in. Before the gym, I am jamming to a mix of trap music and motivational speeches. During work, I am all about instrumentals. After work, I am feeling island-y, and I raise the volume on bachata/reggaeton/reggage.

6) I Count My Blessings

Sometimes, shit just hits the fan -- but it's so important to stop myself and really acknowledge my blessings. This helps me realize that I have so much to be grateful for. Sometimes the good moments can slip into the cracks when we're so focused on the negatives. When I count my blessings, I start my day with a positive outlook.
Hmm you sleep at 830am and wake up at 530am no wonder you have all the energy ;) I have trouble sleeping early.
this is some good advice, I going to keep this in mind.
it is good advice. I have a really hard time getting motivatated. it's critical for me to keep a normal exercise routine, and i used to but just can't get my motivation back.
