During the early 20th century, along with technological advancements, scientists were able to develop sophisticated magic. The combination of science and sorcery was Makinot, circuits made from spells that were put into objects to bring them to life and even gain a personality. It was developed as a military weapon and has now spread throughout the world.

Status: Completed (12 Episodes)
The plot is very simple, Raishin and Yaya against the world! The main story is about these two, specifically Raishin, trying to become the best puppeteer in the world. However, before that happens, they need to beat every other puppeteer from the academy and become the Wiseman. Between all that, they meet lots of people and go through hard battles and adventures filled with lots of action, humor, "romance" and ecchi-ness.
The protagonist, Raishin, is your typical "I wanna be the very best" and help everyone anime character with an interesting background, a puppeteer and also a secret agent. Yaya is cute, jealous, loyal and Raishin's automaton, which means she fights for and at Raishin's will. These two made the anime for me. The relationship between these two is hilarious! Lastly, for main characters, is Charlotte. She is your everyday rich and arrogant tsundere.
The best thing is that these are not the only characters that make the anime so enjoyable, the supporting characters do a great job on backing up Raishin and Yaya and making the story even more interesting than it already is. I would have loved to learn more about all the characters but then again, it's a short 12 episode anime.
The sound is pretty decent. The voice acting is on point in this one as you can feel the character's emotions in every situation. The background music helps a lot at setting the mood perfectly. Most importantly, the openings and endings are delightful. Most of the time in anime, the emotional or passionate songs are the endings but this time is the opening and it does a hell of a job pumping you up for the action packed anime this is. The ending is one of the most catchiest and cute songs I've heard in a while.
-Reasons to Watch-
For me, the story is what did it for me. At first I thought it would be just another survival/tournament genre anime but there is more to it than that. I never thought I would be so immersed in the story. There is a lot action and ecchi but it didn't, not even close, compare to the story itself. I won't spoil obviously but the way they told the backgrounds of the characters is nothing new but it felt so fresh. They told it by making the backgrounds a part of what is happening at the moment. It's hard to explain but you'll understand if you watch it and it's not disappointing.
The animation is fantastic. It's flashy, detailed, cute and it felt so refined and who doesn't like a good animated anime? The soundtracks as I mentioned, is so enjoyable and also the reason why I loved the anime even more. The two complaints I have are the fact that is too ecchi for my taste. I'm fine with it as anime and ecchi go hand-in-hand and in many cases, it worked in the humor and blended well with the story. The second complaint is that the anime AND the manga are both really short and it feels incomplete. However, I have a positive mind and that gave me hope that another season will eventually come through.
