Best Thing About Spring: New Year's Celebrations
"Cambodian New Year (Khmer: បុណ្យចូលឆ្នាំថ្មី) or Chaul Chnam Thmey in the Khmer language, literally "Enter New Year", is the name of the Cambodian holiday that celebrates the New Year. The holiday lasts for three days beginning on New Year's Day, which usually falls on April 13 or 14th, which is the end of the harvesting season, when farmers enjoy the fruits of their labor before the rainy season begins. Khmers living abroad may choose to celebrate during a weekend rather than just specifically April 13 through 15th. The Khmer New Year coincides with the traditional solar new year in several parts of India, Myanmar and Thailand."-Wikipedia Photographer Sam Sith His Site [http://about.me/samsith] Photographer Sovuthy Kuch His Site [http://500px.com/WoodyKuch]

So pretty!! I loved the parasols and the dance looks so great.^^ I really liked that lavender outfit.^^
@zaneh Right? Why are all the beautiful, elaborate outfits so expensive. Darn it. XD @Saravy I've actually never seen a dance with parasols. I'm going to have to look it up.
@salyssamang Go you! That's really awesome. My sister @YinofYang is also Khmer, but she no dance. :( Well, she can get down on a dance floor but not the traditional dancing.^^
@salyssamang That's wonderful! Do you live in Cambodia? I used to do it when I was young, for a short time. And I performed it once for high school, years ago. ^^ It was fun! @Saravy Hahahaha! You know that's right.
